Ms Higgins has been appointed the inaugural visiting fellow of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership (GIWL), the international group led by former prime minister Julia Gillard.
Her GIWL role will be based at the Australian National University, which says she will help advance work on a proposed code of conduct to prevent and respond to abuse, harassment and sexual misconduct in Parliament House and parliamentary workplaces…
“In Brittany, Australia has an incredible leader who is already having a profound impact,” Ms Gillard said.
“I applaud her courage in coming forward with her experiences, and her determination to make sure other women do not ever have to go through what she has.
“Her bravery should and must lead to meaningful change, not only in our workplaces, but across all our society.
As the matter of Higgins’ alleged rape is before the courts, the publicity surrounding this so-called ‘appointment’ can only have a prejudicial effect on a jury. Or was that the intention?
This appointment has nothing to do with the case.
you do realise she has had experiences ( plural remember) that would highly pertinent to this position.
Are you saying any publicity concerning miss Higgins is prejudicial? How many people would be aware of such an appointment?
4/5ths of bugger all in reality
Completely and totally devalues what leadership is all about.
But perfectly aligns with the Lying Slapper’s definition of and embodiment of leadership.
Get in quick and make as much money as possible from the suckers. Not hyperbowl.
Ignorance has spread across this country like a giant alien amoebic plasma decapod.
There is no proof she had to go “through” anything other than media attention.
What do you expect from Vivian Waller’s mate? Guilty, guilty, guilty. And of course, it’s all part of the shtick to strip men of the presumption of innocence.
And as for this tripe from Gillard….
““I applaud her courage in coming forward with her experiences, and her determination to make sure other women do not ever have to go through what she has.”
Firstly Ms Gillard, I note the plural to “experiences”…there was only one “experience”…unless Brittany is going to claim others.
Secondly, if Brittany had any wisdom and sense, she should have been “determined” to use her “experience” to advise all women to never get paralytically drunk at a function.
This is a conga line of political smears and lies which Morrison the Fool fell for hook, line and sinker.
Gillard is another of the pack of “monstrous women”.
Oh and don’t be surprised if any future federal Labor government sets up a royal commission into historical sex abuse in political parties…but their terms of reference will only include the Liberal party….ignoring the far worse shenanigans in the Labor party.
Sound familiar? The precedent was set.
It was Scumbag Morrison who emboldened Higgins.
I wish the dickhead took even half as much interest in the nefarious goings-on in Victoria.
But that would probably upset or anger his lefty “friends” who would never actually vote for him in a million years.
Grace Tame is gonna be so pissed off.
Julia’s next choice will probably be that New Zealand weightlifter.
Looking forward to the court case where the prosecutor asks, “did you or did you not rope this fellow, Miss Higgins?” ABC article written by Laura who doesn’t Tingle since Sam left.
Brittany Higgins – Leader!
Though to be honest, there is nothing out of place in contemporary Australia in this ‘appointment’. Look at the standard of leaders we have across all areas of society in this stupid, stupid country and the pathetic bint will fit right in.
Ha ha ha. True!
Yep, you’re paying for it.
