It’s not that he’s stupid. The lie was scripted by handlers to influence the gullible and the dumb.

It might be a lie, but it does seem like having a highly vaccinated population reduces the risk of getting covid.
You cannot say that the risk is exactly the same to catch it from vaccinated or unvaccinated.
I don’t support vaccine mandates but I do think people working in hospitals and aged care should be vaccinated.
Vaccines aren’t 100% effective, they wane in effective more quickly over time, especially in the elderly and I think the frail aged and very ill are entitled to a little consideration.
Many of us said from the get go that the vulnerable should be protected.
Vaccines apparently help to do that.
of course they do.
The risk is dramatically reduced.
No vaccine is 100% effective.
And yes the vulnerable should have been protected.
It isn’t a vaccine.
Hence the CDC redefined the meaning of the word.
I think you’re conflating a population with a person, Rosie.
Biden says vaccinated health workers cannot spread covid.
That is a lie.
It’s always worth remembering, of course, that close to 99 percent of human beings are not, and never have been, mortally endangered by coronavirus anyway.
Second, states are now wheeling out the same line about a reduction in hospitalisations owing to the so-called vaccine. It’s just as likely that populations have acquired natural immunity from exposure to the virus. IMO, the reason governments are fetishising 80 and 90 percent targets is that they make it impossible for anyone to argue that natural immunity played a large – conceivably, even dominant – role in reducing the severity of the virus.
Viruses always become more feeble over the course of a bell curve. We don’t have enough information to know what role, if any, human intervention has played on that curve. Post hoc propter hoc is not science, even if it is good enough for politicians and tabloids.
You cannot say that it isn’t. Some countries seem to support your theory, others seem to show that vaccinations make the situation worse.
My own recent experience of five blokes living in a house together doesn’t support your theory at all. One bloke was triple vaxxed, two blokes were double vaxxed, one bloke was single vaxxed and the last bloke was unvaxxed.
The triple vaxxer and one of the double vaxxers caught the ‘rona. The triple vaxxer was the sickest of the two.
Fair enough CL.
And
Anecdotes aren’t evidence.
Biden is saying if you are vaccinated you cannot spread the disease. That is correct until you come into contact with an unvaccinated who then spreads it to you.
Fortunately a vaccinated person does not spread it as badly as the unvaxxed.
CL is merely amplifying the key message of the secularists who do not care about their fellow man. It appears they there are more in the USA than here in OZ.
Thank the Lord for that
This
Absolutely wrong and ignorant on so many levels.
But even you are admitting that being vaxxed doesn’t stop someone from getting Covid.
If you really believe the incoherent garbage you have written above, then you are even more demented than Biden.
Non Compos Mentis continues to demonstrate his utter ignorance.
And his inability to comprehend the written word.
“Biden is saying if you are vaccinated you cannot spread the disease. That is correct until you come into contact with an unvaccinated who then spreads it to you.
Fortunately a vaccinated person does not spread it as badly as the unvaxxed.”
Von Trampis, you really need to troll better than this, woeful.
Alas those from Catallaxy do not understand what trolling is.
My comment was on topic!
no-one has ever said you cannot get covid if you are vaccined. You simply rarely go to hospital.
A vacccinated person who gets covid from an extremely selfish unvaccinated person does not have the loads of an unvaccinated person.
I always like t o help people understand a topic
That’s easily demonstrated, just look at Singapore: very low natural immunity levels, and high vaccination levels … result? Huge surge in infections, and deaths are worse than last year, although overall better than other countries … thing is they are not through the wave yet.

Keep your eye on that chart, because it tells you what Australia is likely to be going through next Autumn when the weather gets cold again, and whatever vaccine protection we do have is worn out.
That said, I should point out that no one knows the natural immunity levels in Australia because there’s no attempt been made to measure it. Even talking about natural immunity has become some kind of “Right Wing Conspiracy Theory” (TM) making any rational discussion a bit difficult. We now have conclusive proof that Dr Peter Daszak and his EcoHealth Alliance team were running a colony of humanized mice infected with a crossover coronavirus collected from bats in Yunnan Province, China using mice that were genetically modified with human ACE2 receptors in their lungs. This is known as gain of function by serial pass through, and the process was like this:
* Collect coronavirus samples from bat caves.
* Get the virus samples growing in a bat cell culture.
* Expose the humanized mice to the virus (repeat many times for different samples).
* Eventually something hops species and crosses over into the mice.
* Keep the mice together so the virus infects mouse to mouse.
* Feed more fresh humanized mice into the colony to keep it going.
The documentation of the NIH grant given to EcoHealth Alliance was obtained under FOIA by an online news site called “The Intercept”, and then additional material was leaked in the form of Daszak providing some slides for a project he called DEFUSE where he said this:
Now let me remind you that Dr Daszak was on the team sent to figure out where COVID-19 came from, and would you know he forgot to mention his research with these humanized mice that had been infected and struck with a SARS-like illness? How surprise! Busy boy … has a lot on his mind these days.
Thing is, there’s reasonable evidence that this virus was already in Australia before the March 2020 lockdown, given as how it was at the military games in Wuhan in October 2019 and plenty of people go back and forth from Australia into Asia. Almost certainly there’s a larger number of Australians who were exposed in those early months than anyone realizes … but that won’t sell vaccines now will it?
Death rate in Singapore is still very low, I’m not panicking yet.
Tel, how do you know that? I thought that, like most of the world, they had considerable preexisting immunity.
Yes, a while ago I read a thesis about the Singaporeans that argued they did have considerable immunity already – Asia being grand central station for flus.
It’s lamentable that Australia, the one country in the world who could’ve managed a Swedish style response, just went the full on Chinese model.
And look at us now, a broken (socially and financially) nation panicked beyond rational thought, jumping at unmasked shadows and begging to the state for salvation.

Singapore might have immunity left over from 2003, if that still works against a different coronavirus. Difficult to measure but speculatively it might be the reason they can have huge case numbers but not many deaths.
The type of T cell immunity described in the article (in my understanding) is completely different to what the vaccine does with spike protein antibodies. At any rate, given as how this outbreak is worse than last year and whatever long term historic immunity would be same for both years … it shows the vaccine hasn’t exactly solved anything.

Queensland and WA are going to be hammered. [Comparatively NSW/Vic will have a substantial natural immunity base to help limit rate of transmission]
