The Defamation of Mr Raman

THIS demonstrates who and what they are. Usefully coinciding with Annastacia and Jeannette’s Henpecking Vaccination Tour is the notoriety ginned up around the innocent Duran Raman. The state government and amenable News Corp frenzy factory, the Courier Mail, decided the athletic-looking Uber driver in his 30s who is reportedly “very unwell” with coronavirus was the poster boy from central casting for a vaccination scare campaign. If that meant trashing his privacy, splashing his picture on a front page, using him for a pop-up “Don’t be like Duran” drive, unlawfully accusing him of a crime – indeed, of being Queensland’s worst criminal – so be it. Equally disgraceful is the Courier’s attempt to conflate “unvaxxed” with infectious. I can’t speak for others but, as a rule, I’m never moved to action by callous, lying thugs.

The Courier is the mouth piece of the government who released the information about Mr Duran.
I guess having proposed the ridiculous 90 percent as the requirement for opening and with too many not coming to the party Anna will be forced to continue this nonsense.
She’s an idiot, but at least she has a mandate.
If my daughter sil and baby granddaughter weren’t trapped up there I’d be more than happy to see indefinite Queensland is for Queenslanders.

  2. Entropy says:

I would love to know how sick he actually is though.
Apparently too breathless to talk to the police. Of course he is. Suits Mr Duran, suits the politicians.

  3. Tel says:

Apparently too breathless to talk to the police.

He’s come down with the Far Cough.

  4. Not Trampis says:

You really haven’t proven your case.
you certainly haven’t proved people are lying about Mr Duran.

You are on a lot firmer ground criticising the invasion of his privacy

  5. C.L. says:

The Courier Mail has declared him Queensland’s worst criminal.
    That is a lie.

  6. C.L. says:

I hope Raman makes a full recovery. Then I hope he is made aware by a lawyer that he has been defamed and is deserving of a generous settlement.

  7. Not Trampis says:

No. It is merely a patently wrong point of view. Something you should be familiar with.

  8. Entropy says:

Well he clearly snuck across the border after a couple of failed attempts. So he ain’t an angel, just another arsehoke who thinks he knows best.

That said, this pretrial vilification is unseemly and something I thought the Qld govt had stopped after those African girls a year ago, but, needs must and I suspect they are feeling the pressure.

    Stop projecting, Paxton.

New information on nthe murder of David Amess which Reuters fact check declare to be baseless:

  11. Ed Case says:

Should say “speculation”, since the cops declared it a Terrorist Investigation.

  12. C.L. says:

There are no charges against Raman. So talk of “pre-trial” is itself jumping the gun.
Declaring him the state’s worst criminal is defamatory.

  13. Not Trampis says:

It is also a matter of opinion

  14. Boambee John says:

    Non Compos Mentis

As a simple matter of opinion, you are an idiot with nothing of value to add to any discussion.

  15. Tel says:

She’s an idiot, but at least she has a mandate.

Few people fully appreciate how much of an idiot she is. I stumbled into this article recently.

    https://www.skynews.com.au/australia-news/coronavirus/covidpositive-uber-driver-who-failed-to-use-qr-codes-is-so-sick-health-authorities-are-struggling-to-talk-to-him/news-story/fd93f5fa0dcb0873f299f2c0aace027e

“We are a little bit concerned about this person that has been infectious in the community and if you have any symptoms whatsoever, now is the time to get vaccinated,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

That’s about the worst medical advice you can give … it’s completely against the protocol for people who are already sick and showing symptoms to go for a vaccination, it won’t work and can be dangerous. More than that, the last thing the vaccination centre wants is people queued up spreading it all around the place.

Now you might think that Palaszczuk simply misspoke, and perhaps she did, but here’s all the Earnest Voice news media nodding along and sincerely transcribing every word without stopping and saying, “Huh?!?” None of the Chiefly Chief Medical Whatsamagogs stepped forward to correct the record. It just demonstrates how little actual conceptual understanding exists at the supposed “leadership” level.

  16. Ed Case says:

now is the time to get vaccinated,” Ms Palaszczuk said.

They aren’t trying very hard to convince people.
Steven Miles was in the paper the other day at Pormpuraaw with an elderly aboriginal gentleman who’d just been jabbed.
Okay, but who’s toodlin’ down to the hub on the strength of that?
