Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin beat former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat, after President Biden won there by more than 10 percentage points in 2020.
Yeah nah. I wonder how the Republicans were able to stop the steal this time.
They stopped the steal by being far enough in front in the first place to overwhelm it. It was not surprising that the largest Democrat county had reporting problems early on. They planned to wait and see how many ballot boxes were needed. But by the end of the night it was obvious they would need a lot more favourable ballots than voters on the roll to pull it off. Better keep their powder dry for when it matters.
Youngkin was a very astute campaigner. He ran away from Trump on the issues that mattered and stayed with him on the issues that didn’t.
now he has to show he can govern.
There was never a steal last time nor was there this time
The courts say your theory is claptrap.
Only wood-ducks would believe such rubbish when the claims have been shown to complete rubbish and the trump camp knew they were rubbish.
As far as I am aware no courts have ruled substantively on any election issues, rather they have ducked for cover and relied generally on lack of standing to refuse to take the case.
Adam Creighton has declared the win a major loss for Trump.
Really.
Then a McAuliffe win would have been a win for Trump, according to his own logic.
What an idiot.
Creighton sounds like a typical “heads I win, tails you lose” leftist.
A few of them needed to be fortified, here and there … can’t take any chances.
If that story in Time had been about a cabal of Republicans and business leaders getting together to “fortify” an election against a DemonRat candidate, the screeches from the PC fascist left and the MSM (BIRM) would have been audible beyond Saturn. Instead, the usual suspects were all patting each other on the back about the subtle brilliance of the plan.
poor old deplorables cannot provide any evidence so show utter stupidity with wild house conspiracy.
how come the democrats only ‘stole’ the presidential election. What happened to the senate and house elections that were on the same piece of paper.
Embarrassing.
As I said even Trump and his cohorts knew he was lying but they also knew it did not matter

Indeed. Embarrassing to Non Compos Mentis, who is incapable of understanding that the actual Trump vote level was such that the “normal” level of fraud was inadequate. Instead, there was a need for many, many, fraudulent votes to be produced on election night. Filling in all of the boxes would have taken far too long, so only the presidential selection cold be forged in the available time.
All of this was discussed extensively last November and December, but Non Compos Mentis seems to have been more than usually Non Compos, and missed it all. Still, he/she/xe could use some research skills to do some research.
I’d thought Creighton was pretty reliable. Boy, how stupid I was! But then, I’ve been disappointed by The Australian before. The morning after Rudd was elected P.M., Denis Shanahan wrote an op-ed arguing how Rudd could be one of Australia’s greatest prime ministers !!! I almost choked to death on my muesli.
I cancelled my Oz sub after the US election last December, the paper was screaming and shrieking TDS…..Mavis Bramston, Sheridan, Overington, Kelly. It was too much and I thought….why should I pay for such hysterical bile?
And you know what, I thought I’d miss the paper….but I don’t. Okay, I can read if free at work however if I thought the paper was somewhat balanced, I’d subscribe again. It isn’t and I won’t. Plus the moderators were acting like indoctrinated progressive censors straight out of the UTS journalism school which of course is what they are so I realised that there was no point subscribing.
As for Sheridan, I actually regard him as a joke. He sits on the fence and then will turn whatever way the wind is blowing.
Adam Creighton has declared the win a major loss for Trump.
He’s right in this instance, while being wrong in general.
Youngkin has got a Mitt Romneyn type background, he didn’t run as a Trump surrogate [Creighton’s words] and he still won easily.
Not sure that he repudiated Trump, but Trump wasn’t an issue.
Coupled with the New Jersey result it wasn’t great for Trump’s hopes in 2024, remembering that Trump didn’t win Virginia in either 2016 or 2020.
Just looking at the figures, Trump lost to Clinton there by 212.000 and Biden by 451,000.
Trump is a sore loser.
Nixon had more to whinge about after the dead voted [D] in the hundreds of thousands to beat him in 1960, but he took it in the shorts and got on with his life.
Youngkin wins!
Yeah nah. I wonder how the Republicans were able to stop the steal this time.
Excellent news.

The oafish voters of Virginia must be punished severely for this outrage!!

McAuliffe lost because he didn’t run away from Biden.

Non Compos Mentis remains in a state of denial of reality.
I see Homer Paxton’s got his own shoes on again…

Deplorables are soo stupid and deny reality
Poor old Non Compos Mentis again displaying his ignorance of the realities of US political actions.
Sad, such low energy that even Deplorables are smarter than Non Compos Mentis!

At least the Dems tried to rig it. Short vid.
There’s never been an election stolen any time, ever.

And then, Greg Sheridan’s prediction that Hillary Clinton would win in 2016. “You can take it to the bank.” And they still pay these people?

Good riddance.

Richard (Ed) Case thinks electoral rorting should simply be accepted as a part of life.
Among others, Stalin, various Kims, and Mugabe agree.
Trump was a disaster as President, though his trolling was pretty funny.
More importantly, what did he do for Australia?
Can anyone name one thing?
The main difference in the quality of comments by Ed and Non Compos Mentis is that Ed has better punctuation.
