That’s what governments, health officials and police are for

The online world should not be a wild west where bots and bigots and trolls and others are anonymously going around and can harm people and hurt people, harass them and bully them and sledge them. That is not Australia.”

    What is Scummo on about?
Sounds like just what we need in Australia; more government overreach and lawfare waged against the public.
More reason not to vote Liberal (or Greens, Labor) in the next federal election.

  2. Lee says:

If Morrison thinks that initiatives like this will improve his falling approval ratings he is utterly delusional.

  3. vlad redux says:

I.e., asked what he thinks of free speech, ScoMor’on replies, “That is not Australia.”

He’s not delusional, he knows he’s leading them over a cliff.
Looking at his career before Politics, there’s a pattern.
They’re after anonymous commenters on the net.

    “That is not Australia.”

Nor is the refusal to condemn the segregation & de-humanisation of the non-vaccinated. But I don’t see Morrison attempting to invoke Sect.51 of the Australian Constitution to challenge any of the state restrictions for the unvaxxed or the proposed vaccine mandates.

  6. C.L. says:

    No. Exactly, Vicki.

Morrison’s 2022 re-election strategy is simple: we were pushed by our public service to become the neo-fascist Fourth Reich of the 21st century Down Under, but we’re less unpalatable than Labor’s fascists who would be worse twice as fast.

It’s a reckless strategy that depends on the LNP’s record low primary vote in 2022 being less disastrous than the leakage of Labor primary votes to right-wing splinter parties as a result of the ALP’s abandonment of the working class.

Morrison is attempting this strategy for the second consecutive election, having abandoned aspirationals who are fleeing to the minor parties.

Not even Evel Knievel could get insurance for such a stunt.

It’s a sure-fire way to get another Labor socialist in the Lodge, even if it’s an all-but-unelectable dullard like Albo.

Labor lost those during the Howarde Era, they’re on bedrock now.
Scotty Mandates is the P.M. for Big Pharma, unless he calls a Snap Election he’ll either be rolled or defeated on the Floor of Parlioament and the Government falls.

Morrison sounds like a schoolgirl on a Northcote tram

  10. FlyingPigs says:

Good to finally see that the so called Liberal Party of Australia is opposed to and admit they do not tolerate Free Speech

  11. Francoise says:

The LNP have been in power federally a long time. Nothing has improved, which seems to be the point of them.

  12. Pommyal says:

Tell that to the Australian cricket team

  13. Chris M says:

Exactly Tom “we are less worse than Labor” and that’s all that remains.

  14. Terry says:

‘The online world should not be…’
Well, of course not. We should instead reserve this kind of thing for the real world, where…
…we install the bigots in power, assist them in becoming unremovable, and allow them to harm people and hurt people, harass them and bully them and sledge them.

That IS not Australia now Scotty – and YOU let made it happen.

  15. Shy Ted says:

But isn’t THIS a dick pic?

  16. Chris M says:

Another swag of entirely unproductive people employed and offices filled and lawyers hired all busy trolling for trolls.

    This country is not recoverable.
