A Queensland man in his late 30s has died of a “probable” COVID-related illness, authorities say, with the state recording 4,249 new infections in the latest reporting period.
CHO John Gerrard said the man “died suddenly in his home on the Gold Coast last night” and testing was underway to confirm whether his death was COVID-related.
“All I would say very strongly is that it’s very, very unusual for a young man to die suddenly from COVID-19,” Dr Gerrard said.
“So it needs further investigation exactly what has happened here.”
He said it was believed the man who died had been vaccinated.
Dr Gerrard said the death has been referred to the state coroner for investigation and the COVID link to the man’s death was based on a positive rapid antigen test.
“We don’t even have confirmation of the diagnosis … I should make that clear,” he said.
My guess – that he died of a vaccine-related heart failure – is based on the same amount of science and data as Dr Gerrard’s. It is a total disgrace for a medical official to admit that he knows nothing about a man’s death while using it to stoke phony panic about the sniffles. The Premier, of course, doesn’t need any facts: “This goes to show this pandemic can have very serious consequences,” she said. “Think very carefully about where you’re going.” Words to live by.

Life Insurance Actuarial data from USA shows a 40% increase in all deaths from pre-pandemic levels among working aged people 18-64 and not just covid related. This constitutes the highest increase in death rate in the history of US life insurance.
For context, a three-sigma or one-in-200-year catastrophe would be a 10% increase over pre-pandemic.

As Malone says, we have to look at all-cause mortality for now. Very hard to work out if Covid was the cause or just a bystander.
