  1. Old School Conservative says:

Singing and dancing will be allowed at all hospitality venues

Will future generations look at this development and ask “How did the people allow the Government to ban singing and dancing in the first place?”

  2. C.L. says:

    Indeed, OSC.
What worries me is that conservatives and those on the right are uncritically welcoming the Big Easing and not noticing how many of the ‘restrictions’ and ‘measures’ are being kept in place – or in reserve. This is being done deliberately to preserve a ‘new normal’ which will enable hair-trigger re-intervention in our lives by the state at any time.

It isn’t really anything they’re “giving back” anyway. Nobody is wearing masks properly. Only the recreational hypochondriacs were actually using QR codes. No restaurant that I know of has been running at less than their normal capacity and turning people away.

I don’t trust any government that includes Matt Kean and Brad Hazzard. They need to make a commitment to do as Denmark and England did and get rid of ALL restrictions. WHen they action that and the words “Public Health Order” are consigned to history then I will believe them

I have no doubt that on a desk somewhere in Spring Street (Melbourne) there is a planning document for a permanent annual ‘flu season’ mask mandate. I mean, after all, it’s just like seat belts or daylight savings. And if he can, andrews will write it into the Victorian constitution.
