If you move against Ukraine while I’m president, I will hit Moscow. All those beautiful golden turrets will be blown up.” (To Vladimir Putin).
.
“Any military move against Taiwan would be met with an attack on Beijing.” (To Xi Jinping).
.
“I sent her a white flag. She said, ‘What is this?’ I said, ‘It’s a flag of surrender so you don’t have to go out and buy a new one’.” (Re Angela Merkel).

Typically he is an idiot. Why di Putin act now. simply observe the oil market now and then

Perhaps the changes to the oil market came about because Hiden Biden cut US energy independence by stopping the pipeline from Canada, and banning new exploration in the US, among other silly actions? So increasing the price of oil (and also gas), giving Russia a major financial boost?

Looks more like Hiden Biden is the idiot?

  3. Lee says:

If Trump is an “idiot”, what does that make Biden?

  4. bollux says:

If Biden was a covert Russian ally, what more could he have done different to make this happen? Putin is smart and patriotic and knows why he is doing this. Biden is stupid, anti American and doesn’t know why he’s doing anything. And Biden has Scott Morrison as an ally.

  5. Not Trampis says:

you are embarrassing in your ignorance. The USA is energy independent now. Hint Shale oil
go back to playing with your Putin’s doll

Putin clearly has little understanding of WW@. If so he would have known of the large losses of the people of Ukraine nor apparently does he understand why the soviet union left Afghanistan.
Attacking the Ukraine means attacking their slavic brothers and sisters.

This is my favourite bit of that article:

“He also cited the historic Abraham Accords forged under his watch, which saw Israel normalize relations with four Muslim nations. Any other president would get the Nobel Peace Prize for that breakthrough.”

    Absolutely.

you are embarrassing in your ignorance. The USA is energy independent now. Hint Shale oil

Mindless as usual. The US was energy independent, and a net exporter, until Hiden Biden changed that by Executive Order in his first few days in office. Since then he has been begging the Saudis, among others, to increase output to make up for the gap he caused.

Attacking the Ukraine means attacking their slavic brothers and sisters.

Do you know any Ukrainians? They haven’t forgotten the Holodomor, and are less than enthusiastic about their (Russian) Slavic brothers and sisters.

Stick to teaching apprentice bank tellers how to balance their cash at the end of the working day, that is about your intellectual limit.

  8. Buccaneer says:

Obama got the Nobel peace prize for being elected. Biden told us Putin is scared of him, because he is the only one who will go toe to toe with Putin.

    We’re still waiting Slow Joe…

  9. Not Trampis says:

boofhead they are still both . High oil prices makes shale oil quite economic.

Lots of relations in Russia and the Ukraine. Attacking the Ukraine and killing Ukrainians is a whole lot different to any other venture. That is one of the major reasons they were so surprised both at the attack and the attempt to take over the whole country.

Another own goal. Others would be embarrassed by your ignorance, You glow with pride showing it.

  10. Boambee John says:

    Non Mentis

So you don’t actually know any Ukrainians, you are just (as usual) making stuff up.

    boofhead they are still both

“Still both” what? Please try to make your sentences coherent, it makes it easier for readers to understand how stupid you are.

The US is still energy independent? So why does it import oil from Russia?

How many own goals for you in the last couple of days? Perhaps you should have tried harder in kindy?

  11. Tel says:

Wrong as per usual … some things never change.

    https://townhall.com/columnists/stephenmoore/2022/01/18/remember-us-energy-independence-day-n2601959

Biden has come into office, and after one year, we have seen a 4% surplus of domestic oil and gas production fall to a 4% oil and gas deficit. We have gone from energy independence back to energy dependence. This is because Biden has declared war on American energy. He has killed pipelines and reversed almost all of Trump’s pro-drilling policies. In early January, Biden stopped drilling on hundreds of thousands of potentially prime oil fields in Alaska. He is obsessed with climate change, so he loves wind and solar power and electric cars that don’t use gasoline. But under even the most optimistic assumptions, we will be getting the majority of our electric power, heating oil and transportation fuels from fossil fuels for at least the next 25-30 years.

If you check the production charts, US total crude oil production hit a peak Feb 2020 at 12.8 million barrels per day, but then dropped to a temporary low of 9.7 million barrels per day with pandemic panic and all that … but recovery has only come back to 11.7 million barrels per day (about 9% down from the peak) as per Nov 2021. The article above was written Jan 2022.

So Biden basically pissed away the US energy advantage … presumably deliberately.

The two biggest winners from Biden’s war on American energy have been Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin. These leaders of nations that are clearly enemies of the U.S. cannot believe their good luck that Biden is president. He has made western and northern Europe dependent on Putin for reliable energy. Meanwhile, in China, Xi pats Biden on the head and pledges that he will reduce the Chinese pollution levels while building scores of new coal plants that burn dirty, not clean, coal.

You can understand why Biden wants to support China, family contacts, etc. The US has for a long time wanted to look after the Saudis as a counter to Iranian influence, and the ongoing Yemen War is an example of how far the US is willing to tolerate blatant Saudi misbehaviour … through three different Presidents now. Russia’s pushback against NATO expansion was sure to come sooner or later … they have been complaining for a long time, but it does make a lot of sense that they are bolder now they don’t expect any real NATO action. Of course NATO itself doesn’t want action, they want the biggest budget for the least risk.

Non Mentis isn’t interested in facts, he operates on the basis of unsupported assertions. He regularly calls for others to provide evidence but never seems to provide his own. Also, he does not seem to read the links in CL’s posts before demanding more evidence.

Still, a certain amount of mild amusement can come from picking up his grosser errors and exaggerations.

PS, while he is rabbiting on about shale oil, wasn’t the US-Canada pipeline (Keystone) that Biden stopped intended to bring shale oil from a Canadian field? And wasn’t it the subject of much weeping and wailing by so-called environmentalists?

Still is. And the pipeline infrastructure in place is still facing regular attacks by Antifa-style thugs posing as First Nations ‘protestors,’ armed with axes and the like.

The disaster at Lac-Mégantic 8 years ago need never have happened, but for the fact that pipelines were deemed ‘evil’ by the Left and their opportunist mates.

  14. Buccaneer says:

I wonder if Putin had called the Ukrainian government far right extremists rather than nazis, would Biden have verbally waived him through rather than virtually doing so?
