Poor Old Covid

Now reduced to asking “do you know who I AM?” at Ukraine rallies and flood working bees.

It’s been done before, back in the Spanish influenza. If there is another pandemic, the High Court has ruled that these things are available, and they work. Every state in Australia did it. We all did it at various points in time. The media seems to focus most of all on Western Australia, for some reason. But every state in Australia did it.”

– Chin up, bug. What Dennis Rodman is to Kim Jong-un, Mark McGowan is to coronavirus. Here, the pandemic’s last mate – protesting too much, methinks – offers the ‘everyone was doing it’ excuse for lockdowns. Customary chaser: ‘It seemed like a good idea at the time.’

At least the floods have forced Covid case numbers off the front page.

    1. Did the High Court rule that closing of state borders didn’t contravene the Australian Constitution and was legal?

    2. Does Mark McCockwomble actually have publishable proof that closing state borders works? (Along with his definition of “works” )

  3. Bruce of Newcastle says:

To go down in history as the Premier who totally failed to save WA from a common cold virus is an achievement never before managed since Federation.

  4. NoFixedAddress says:

Between the High Court and International Agreements that “someone” signs us up for on our behalf, there doesn’t seem much point in having State or Federal Politicians.

  5. Chris M says:

Science indicates McWitches would float, but then possibly may sink. The people of WA need to find out, this test has been done before in the past in fact almost everywhere it was done as a standard procedure.

  6. Old School Conservative says:

Not one journo has asked the obvious question – for all other states it is a matter of “used to” have border guards. Why “now” for WA?

And that is the exact mindset that the likes of the WEF – the ones who tell us we will own nothing, and be happy – would like us to have.

When it all seems too damned difficult, too confusing, too stupid, that’s when the offer of a soothing, “common sense” “solution” to our difficulties comes.

First, decide the eventuality you want to bring about,
second, decide which particular hobgoblin/s you want to scare the people with,
third, ride that/those particular hobgoblin/s as hard as you can with a compliant and owned media,
fourth, offer your amazing solution to everyone’s problems.

Bingo. You have the eventuality you wanted.
