How did we ever grow up to be hetero and go on to become parents without tranny training in schools? It’s a mystery.
Hit the nail on the head there, C.L. The entire purpose of making religion an entirely ‘private’ matter was to weaponize any possibility that someone’s opinion re policy X or Y was the outcome of someone’s ‘private’ beliefs and thus improper in public affairs because they were entirely a private matter. It was a ‘you can keep your beliefs so long as they remain private’ bargain; effectively erasing them.
This is what he rejected (my corrections of The Guardian’s falsified English, included):
Mark Latham the atheist proposed this and Perrottet blocked it.
I mean, why? It is not even ‘Catholic’ – it is just f-ing normality.
Latho is not impressed:

PHON has my vote.
As a Christian (but not Catholic) I agree with the atheist Latham, not the Catholic Perrottet on this.
Reminds me of Dictator Dan on being interviewed soon after being elected the first time.
A reporter asked him if his (alleged) Catholicism would in any way affect his job as PM.
Andrews’ reply was to the effect “not for a minute.”
So Perrottet, like DD, clearly a man of principle. (/sarc off)
Biden and Pelosi are ‘good’ Catholics.
See how much more freedom a non-Christian has? Still, this is not to excuse the gutlessness involved on the part of Perrottet.
Parrothead isn’t in charge.

Cassie – you sum it up beautifully…
