    How surprising!

  2. Not Trampis says:

Alas the Churchill of our times is correct as Zelensky has been an inspiration to his people since Russia invaded his country. If you knew anything about history you would know that. Like Churchill he was a bit of a dud in peace time.
Not sure what the story has to do with Unkrainian democracy either but then again you are not either.

  3. Boambee John says:

Non Mentis is quite relaxed about the use of lies in propaganda, as long as the lies support whichever side he happens to be on today.

    A true person of principle!

  4. bradd says:

The composer Prokofiev wrote a charming orchestral suite called Lieutenant Kije (Kizhe), for a movie based on a story just like this.

    That’s the CIA script, yes.
As for democracy, Zelensky – a former ham actor and wannabe oligarch named in the Pandora Papers – was installed by the American State Department.

  6. Franx says:

‘He does not exist’ – not the same as, indeed nothing like, saying that the story was a lie. Hence, more lies.

  7. Not Trampis says:

alas we still have dopes here portraying themselves as deplorables. Zelensky won an election. no evidence he was supported by people as alleged by CL but then CL makes ac lot a of allegations never supported by fact.
CL still being a putin apologist. Has he said anything about the numerous war crimes that russia has indulged in again. Wil he ever???

  8. cuckoo says:

As long as this pilot never existed, can’t they at least be designated a woman of colour? As a role model.

  9. C.L. says:

    Homer the Bush neo-con. LOL.

  10. Boambee John says:

    CL

    Homer the Bush neo-con. LOL.

It has been amusing to watch the old “Bush-Chimp- literally Hitler” crew jump on board the latest war of choice with such enthusiasm.

If you had ever managed to complete pre-school, you might even have learned how to punctuate a sentence, and to spell.

  12. C.L. says:

    Zelensky won an election.

No, he illegally became ‘president’ after the violent overthrow of President Viktor Yanukovych by – amongst other people – Nazis.

Revealed: ‘anti-oligarch’ Ukrainian president’s offshore connections.

Corruption in Ukraine: Is time running out for Zelenskyy to reform the country?

“Since early March, when Zelenskyy changed the government for no apparent reason with unknown people, there has been no direction in the government,” Anders Åslund, an economist and senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, told Euronews.

“We have seen that Zelenskyy’s new people have undone everything that was done before. It seems for me that it is done to restore corruption and oligarchs seem to influence this development.

    “Everything is getting destroyed.”

    Homer is pro-Nazi.

  13. vlad redux says:

    “That’s some catch.”

  14. Tel says:

No, he illegally became ‘president’ after the violent overthrow of President Viktor Yanukovych by – amongst other people – Nazis.

After Yanukovych, there was President Poroshenko “the Chocolate King” for five years … with policies generally favourable to the EU and mostly disliked by the Russian speaking minority. President Zelenskyy came after that.

It gets complex with the Panama Papers
because both Poroshenko AND Zelenskyy were stashing loot in offshore bank accounts. Use of Cyrpus as a waypoint was popular for various Russian and Ukranian oligarchs … not that there’s anything wrong with personal privacy, you understand.

It gets worse when you think that Zelenskyy posed as pro-Russian, and anti-corruption, making several movies and TV shows in the Russian language … but right after he was elected with support from Russian speakers, he went and agreed to Ukrainian language laws that did not outright ban speaking Russian, but they did put a heck of a lot of stringant restrictions on where Russian can be used.

In a nutshell … he shafted his supporters and now he tries to knobble his opposition … the ultimate bait-n-switch. There might be a sense of disillusionment perhaps.

  15. Not Trampis says:

He won an election you war crimes apologist.
just fess up and say you were wrong AGAIN.

  16. Boambee John says:

    Non Mentis

He won on a platform of seeking peace.

That went well! //sarc, for the benefit of the terminally stupid.

  17. Not Trampis says:

yep it was his fault Putin decided to invade Ukraine.

There might be a person more stupid than you but I cannot think of one.

Just for CL no Ukrainian wants their country to become a fiefdom of Russia.
It should also be pointed out those in Ukraine who support ‘nazi’ policies are very very small. A bit like deplorables. few people support the far right just like few support becoming a russian puppet

Your inability to think is your problem. Look in the mirror to see someone who is terminally stupid.

Perhaps not. However, there are many people of Russian ethnicity living in Ukraine.
