Andrew Gelman has a good short article on abortion and polls. Roe V Wade is very popular. You really have to answer why that is so if you want change it.

What you see in the panel’s giggling reaction is a glimpse of why abortion really matters to these people. It’s a class-defining, hate-the-cons phenomenon. Of course they don’t care about ‘poor women.’ They want the ‘right’ to kill children enshrined in law only to spite and harm their enemies.

“Lifestyle” as an excuse to abort a perfectly viable baby? Funny way to say too pig ignorant or lazy to use the readily available means of contraception. Or is it a codeword for “preferential abortion of female babies”?

Do you seriously think that the judges who found an “emanation from a penumbra” to justify abortion actually intended if to become a means to abort full term babies? Has that question been asked in those polls you keep babbling on about, but don’t bother about posting the actual questions? Lying with statistics?

She’s a comedian … specializing in black comedy, awkward sitcom, being a bad parent and general icky schlock factor. It does kind of make sense that she would make a comment like this, and probably should not be taken toooo seriously, but understandable that off colour jokes are not everyone’s cup of tea. If the Intolerant Left were not so quick to howl at other people for telling the wrong sort of joke then I think it would be a pass.

Yeah … I’m sure that the gloat factor is at least part of it. That said, there’s certainly gloat factor when sensible people have a chuckle at the childish temper tantrums that we see coming from the commies at the slightest sign they don’t get their way.
