He’s saying American wackos should mind their own continent

We will have a peace to build tomorrow, let us never forget that. We will have to do this with Ukraine and Russia around the table. The end of the discussion and the negotiation will be set by Ukraine and Russia. But it will not be done in denial, nor in exclusion of each other, nor even in humiliation.”

Well amen! At last someone speaking sense. Macron is 100% right…of course however it’s only taken over two months for a Western leader to speak up about the conflict with some rationality….but I suppose better late than never. I suspect that for all of Macron’s faults, he’s had a decent education, knows history and possesses a basic understanding of some of the nuances involved. I wonder if Macron is now going to be smeared as a “Putinist” for his rationality?

You know, I’ve blogged about this before but what staggers me is not only the utter naivety on display in the west but also the cries for war, war, war and for Putin to be “taken out”. When I hear this I don’t know whether to laugh or cry. I remember a little over a month ago, on the bus home after work, when a moronic neighbour of mine casually called for Putin to be killed. And last week on Sky, that moron Pru McSween said that Putin should be assassinated. I could not believe my ears. The level of debate in the West and in this country is so staggeringly adolescent and bad that I’m frequently left speechless, be it from Andrew Blot* (who always wants to be everyone’s friend) to the perpetual dribbler Greg Sheridan who recently described Joe Biden as a “good man”.

At least Macron is trying to offer some solutions.

    * After Blot’s efforts last night, I’ll no longer watch him. He’s utterly cringe worthy.

    Oh yes, Cassie.
Pearls reduced to powder after the clutching they got last night over Latho’s joke.

Macron has actually been pretty sound from the start re the war. I see there is yet another 40 billion being given to Ukraine Raytheon by the United States Democrat oligarchs.

    Money laundering, pure and simple.

  3. Not Trampis says:

Putin is in a lot of trouble.
his army is very over-rated and not doing well at all. Exhaustion is something both armies are experiencing.
Putin obviously will want part of Ukraine but Ukraine do not want to hand it to him.

It is hard to see this invasion finishing any time soon.
Got to give it to Ukraine they know great publicity when they see it. When they capture soldiers they phone their mothers on their phone and tell them where they are and he can be picked up at any time

Thanks for posting the CIA’s talking points, Homer.

When they capture soldiers they phone their mothers on their phone and tell them where they are and he can be picked up at any time.

Not a lot of mum-phoning from the Mariupol steelworks these days.

Is this before or after they mutilate and/or shoot the captured soldiers?

  6. Buccaneer says:

Putin is a dictator with nuclear weapons, thinking he is in trouble is willful fantasy. All the stalled invasion has done is push back the timeline.

  7. Not Trampis says:

I do not believe mick Ryan is part of the CIA nor just about any other military strategist.

All the Russians can do now are war crimes. they are expert at that.

I did not know that Russian soldiers were captured in the steel works.

nuclear weapons are a defensive not an attacking weapon. He aint going to use it. He has way too much to lose.

  8. Fat Tony says:

nuclear weapons are a defensive not an attacking weapon. He aint going to use it. He has way too much to lose.

Are you discounting the possibility of the NATO alliance using them first?

  9. Fat Tony says:

By NATO alliance, I mean Biden & his corruptocrats who have too much to lose (ie everything) if Russia takes the Ukraine with all its “secrets”

  10. Lee says:

Along with his strong opposition to tearing down statues and memorials after the massive overreaction to George Floyd’s death, this is one of the very few times I have to agree with Macron.

  11. Boambee John says:

nuclear weapons are a defensive not an attacking weapon. He aint going to use it. He has way too much to lose.

That wasn’t what Soviet strategists thought through the 1970s and 1980s.

Not saying that it was a good idea, only that is what they thought.

  12. Not Trampis says:

You are simply batshit crazy. Why would NATO use nuclear weapons when they wil not directly intervene. It has been the war criminal threatening nuclear catastrophe.

Just remember if you fire a nuclear missile then the only thing you will know is nuclear missiles will be fired in return.

  13. Boambee John says:

Non Mentis has a touching faith in the essential goodness of western politicians.

    Mug!

  14. Buccaneer says:

Putin thinks he is fighting a defensive war, and I’m guessing he’s never completed studies in the art of non mentis warfare logic.

Yep…on some of the culture war issues, he’s spoken sense.

  16. Bruce of Newcastle says:

He’s got his work cut out. Neither side is currently willing to give an inch. Come back in a few years. The Iran-Iraq war went for eight years, the Yemen war is still going seven years later.

You are simply batshit crazy. Why would NATO use nuclear weapons when they wil not directly intervene. It has been the war criminal threatening nuclear catastrophe.

Why would NATO use nuclear weapons false flag operation using a small tactical nuke to give the excuse needed for a large NATO resonse. None of these fools realise that you can’t “win” a nuclear war.

It has been the war criminal threatening nuclear catastrophe. are you refrring to Biden or Zelenski?

  18. Tel says:

American wackos reply, “Gonna make me?” Rumour has it that the real purpose of this war is to economically cripple the EU.

Meanwhile the USA is economically crippling itself, and China is destroying its best cities in the name of proving a point over “zero covid” … makes you wonder who’s driving this bus. The Club of Rome’s motto, “Depopulate or Perish” is the most plausible contender here.

  19. Not Trampis says:

no-one but no-one invades another country and then fights a defensive war.
Russia has a depression and very high inflation.

Only one nation is killing unarmed civilians, blowup apartments ,hospitals ,schools.

    they are all war crimes

  20. Buccaneer says:

NM, you are making assertions about what is in Putin’s head and extending that to his likely actions then coming back to reporting on events in a war zone (that are contested) as facts.

Putin will determine his actions, if they were based on your truth, your knowledge and your logic, he would never have gone to war in the first place. That’s why it’s so dangerous to provoke him.

  21. Boambee John says:

    Non Mentis

Only one nation is killing unarmed civilians, blowup apartments ,hospitals ,schools.

The evidence for this is ambiguous. That is a word you might not have come across during your failed attempt to complete pre-school. Don’t rush to judgement until the evidence is clear.

  22. Lee says:

Weren’t there a couple of foreign journos almost certainly deliberately targeted and killed by Ukrainian forces?
    Not excusing Putin, just asking.

  23. Not Trampis says:

only a morn would think Ukraine target their own apartments, schools, hospitals with missiles from Russia.

  24. Boambee John says:

    Non Mentis

only a morn would think Ukraine target their own apartments, schools, hospitals with missiles from Russia.

Only a moron who failed pre-school would spell moron as morn.

As to where any projectiles came from, unless you have access to firm intelligence data, best to shut up.

PS, plenty of artillery in place on both sides in Ukraine, no need to use expensive missiles.

  25. Not Trampis says:

boofhead missiles do not disintegrate when they blow up. It is very easy after that to know where they have come from. Indeed which country has said missiles
didn’t know that indeed you don’t know anything.

  26. Boambee John says:

    Non Mentis

Depends on the type of missile. Warheads on some ballistic missiles separate from the booster, which drops well short of the target. Also, you carefully avoided mention of artillery. Don’t you know much about it?
