CL: I thought that was his campaign spiel?

  2. local oaf says:

No surprise to South Aussies, twice in the last 20 years we had rural “independents” hand government to Labor after knife edge elections. That’s what independents do

  3. Lee says:

How surprising, considering Pocock is to the left of Stalin.

  4. Jannie says:

Many Saffas and Rhodesians suffer from a kind of Stockholm syndrome, especially those who cannot escape. They think that if they are Lefter and Woker than the normies they will safe when the Night of the Long Knives comes.

I think Churchill picked it when he said:

“Each one hopes that if he feeds the crocodile enough, the crocodile will eat him last. All of them hope that the storm will pass before their turn comes to be devoured.”

  5. Bruce of Newcastle says:

Independents these days, teals especially, seem mainly to be entirely independent of any intelligence, knowledge or wisdom. As Dunning-Kruger syndrome sufferers go they’re worse even than major party pollies.

Of course, they know who their enemy is, the ones that threaten their access to the parliamentary gold feeding trough. Their one true enemy is the national party.

In Queensland, it was optional first preferences and Palmer that meant no majority for either of the majors in 2015. Robbie Katter and the KAP of course supported the ALP, just like his loudmouthed and ultimately equally ineffective daddy lined up with Oakeshott and Windsor after the federal election in 2010.

It doesn’t matter. The Katters just get it up ‘em in a Canberra and Brisbane, and that will do. But visit any town in those electorates, and the places all suffer extremely poor services whilst the government builds bicycle paths costing multiple tens of millions of dollars in Brisbane.

The greatest cruelty in Kennedy was Noeline Ikin dying of a brain tumour before she got a second shot at BK Jnr. She got 48% first preferences first go in2013 as I recall. Katter, of course, survived on UAP, ONP and ALP preferences, even after only getting about 29% of first preferences.

The LNP, useless as it is, does not spend any time developing a viable candidate for this electorate unless it falls in its lap, like Noeline. It is important they do, as very soon I expect BKJnr to offer Robbie the federal trough as an inheritance.

  9. Not Trampis says:

gosh deplorables didn’t know what Pocock said on global warming. I am shocked.

  10. Old Lefty says:

The Teal Party, on the other hand, think that 43% doesn’t go far enough. But sacrifices are for the plebs to make, of course. Try to come between any of them and the Qantas Chairman’s Lounge and I suspect you’d regret it.

Perhaps Simon Holmes a’Court can bankroll them for the extra staffers Albo is removing?

  11. Boambee John says:

    Non Mentis

gosh deplorables didn’t know what Pocock said on global warming. I am shocked.

You being shocked is a result of your poor basic education, illustrated by your semi-literate writing “style”.

  12. Buccaneer says:

    Semi literate, that’s generous..
