They did that in SA too. Meaning the Liberals tried to purge out any Christians.
Don’t recall ABC commented, maybe it was successful. As they are now the abortion and euthanasia party it’s quite likely; atheists, idolators and pagans only. Bonus points for minority.
Did the same in WA.
One man’s branch stacker is another’s boosting the rank and file. It depends on whether you have the votes or not.
The problem of getting a homogenous group to get the numbers is sometimes they take on a life of their own.
If you wander too far away the mainstream you will lose the votes as the teals showed even in formerly safe seats.
It’s dog whistling by their ABC.
Fair points but associating the Teals with the “mainstream” is a large stretch.
The point is their ABC is very selective with regard to which political parties they investigate for branch stacking.
They all do it, although ALP is just much more professional, or industrial about it. And if one is caught, they still get looked after. The career of Mike Kaiser is a classic case.
Pentecostalists are the new Jews and Catholics, apparently.
The contrast between their treatment and the duchessing of Muslims in certain ALP branches is, of course, pathetically hypocritical.
It’s a bit like how sexting scandals in high schools only make the papers and become a feminist cause when the school is “elite” and private. If a gang bashes a girl into a coma at Shitberg High, it doesn’t matter.
The Teals only won by appealing to the mainstream. They won safe Liberal seats
We’ll see how “mainstream” the Teals are when Australians can’t afford electricity and the Albo Blackouts begin.
Well, that and ALP and Green preferences. probably One Nation and S&F too, although not sure if that lot follow HTV pamphlets.
Apparently “infiltrating” is only ever okay when done by Marxists and leftists into institutions, organisations, and even conservative political parties.
But when Christians do it it is considered an absolute no-no and scandalous.
Non Mentis

In their own right, or on preferences?

In Soviet days, it was known as “entryism”.
I just wonder if the ABC will helpfully preface any mention of this with the handy reminder that branch stacking is not illegal!, as they did every time they were forced to report on this activity in the ALP.
It appears the last report the ABC did on the Laming developments was in August, so I wouldn’t hold my breath.
Yeah na Teal’s aren’t the mainstream. In my gradfathers day yes a large part of the eastern suburbs were filled with average Joe Blow’s. That time has long since past.
As for the media narritive. Following a familiar path to Queenslanders, ALP dirty laundry aired & in open with superficial coverage and no follow up. Then a few months before the election stacks on LNP or Lib/Nat coalition. Beattie mastered the art & Palace”chook” despite not being very bright is showing a deft hand in that art as well. I am not surprised Dan is on to it as well.
Yeah, right. I wish I could have taken you on my daily walk around the electorate of Kooyong and shown you all the multi-million dollar houses flaunting Monique Ryan banners and posters. Mainstream…
Better still was the heritage Victorian villa near me being renovated for over a year at unimaginable expense, which during the campaign flaunted yard signs for the Greens candidate. Mainstream!
Thoughtless people are attracted to empty virtue. It’s better than real virtue, because that takes effort.
Regarding ABC “bias”…..could we have a dedicated thread concerning the “long march through the Institutions” one day maybe?
My feeling is that it is / was actually aimed at destroying the Commie left so as to strengthen the Fascist left, which is why so many ‘on the left” are now so 100% OK with big corporations running the show 9think big pharma, big renewables , big tech etc)..and with govts being in bed with big corporations (think ALP/Greens/Teals/ABC and China). Anyhow…one day maybe…
