  1. Lee says:

I presume this is because some from a certain demographic have their panties in a knot over Andrews having Maroondah Hospital renamed as the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
It doesn’t really bother me apart from the cost of doing so, much as I despise Andrews.

“I think we would have a conversation with the local Indigenous authorities and I think that this hospital should have an Indigenous name. I think it’s a good fit for this kind of location,” Mr Guy said.

Yep. This Guy guy is real sharp.

  3. Lee says:

I don’t know of anyone in my family who is the least bit impressed with Matthew Guy.
Unfortunately it is a case of vote for him in November, rather than Andrews, who we all utterly loathe.

  4. NoFixedAddress says:

I absolutely think the Guy’s idea is magnificent.

We have long needed a place where the finest Indigenous surgical and medical procedures are conducted.

  6. Morsie says:

If Guy is the answer, you are asking the wrong question.

  7. Not Trampis says:

The hospital already had a ‘name’ why would anyone change it?

  8. Chris M says:

    Wontsumgrogmate?

  9. Buccaneer says:

Because reading and comprehension are not your strong point. Actually, Trampis, you’re just an ignorant fool who comes here to insult people, but anyway.

It would be built on a 22-hectare vacant block of land and include a 250-bed training hospital, training hub and on-site accommodation for healthcare workers.

Yes, you are talking about a different facility. The Wantirna space has been reserved for a hospital for decades, no one has named it yet.

  10. Shy Ted says:

May I suggest Lingerlonger. Because you will.

  11. cuckoo says:

Look on the bright side. It’s one less thing to be named after John Cain or Joan Kirner.

  12. Lee says:

Joan Kirner, quite possibly the worst premier in Victoria’s history before Andrews, and she gets a hospital named after her by the latter!
    Cain was not much better.

  13. Rossini says:

    Aint going to matter!
    mat…ty aint winning anything!
    Dumb labor lite

  14. bollux says:

Fair enough. The aboriginals built a lot of hospitals before “whitey” got here. They weren’t that good though as the average age at death before “whitey” got here was about 25.
