  1. NFA says:

    Absolutely Sinclair.

  2. Romanitas says:

Well, the UN decided in 1948 that the capital of Israel is Tel Aviv. Were they wrong and why so? Also, please define ‘Semite’. Does this include Carthaginians, Phoenicians, Philistines, Canaanites, Bedouins or just Arabs in general?

Even for an economist (one of the the non-science ‘sciences’ along with psychology) you seem to display an alarming ignorance of history. Perhaps you could start by researching the origin of the term ‘anti-Semite’. Personally I have no issue as to where Israel declares its capitol is. Whether Australia agrees with them is a different matter.

All being middle eastern white rednecks.

MSM covering up Mandela Barnes’s crazy tweets the same way they did Hunter Biden’s laptop
    By Thomas Lifson

The legacy media in this country are nothing but propaganda organs for the Democrat party that has been captured by the far left. Just as they dismissed the story of Hunter Biden’s laptop in order to corruptly influence the 2020 presidential election, they are now covering a series of disturbing tweets from Wisconsin’s Democrat nominee for the Senate seat held by Ron Johnson, a dedicated warrior for the truth on Covid, Russiagate and much more.

That Barnes was ever elected to any significant office (he is Lieutenant Governor of Wisconsin) and is within 3 points of Johnson on a weighted poll average is a disgrace. Alana Goodman of the Free Beacon reports on tweets of his that just surfaced revealing a dangerous naivete (that’s the charitable interpretation) or downright nuttiness of his approach to the Middle East:

  5. C.L. says:

Romanitas, Israel the state (like all other state) can always be criticised. Some of its covid policies were particularly stupid and hysterical, for example. Sinclair wouldn’t spare the Israeli polity criticism for foolish or unjust decisions.

  6. Romanitas says:

Thanks CL. Let Professor Davidson defend his views. I did not mention Covid 19 and this post has no relevance to Covid 19. This post is entirely about the capital of Israel.

  7. Vagabond says:

For this old jew and most others, any variation of the the “arabs are semites so how can we be anti-semites” line is an instant giveaway that the person is a jew hater. The euphemistic term”anti-semite” was coined a long time ago when jews were the main object of hatred in Europe and other people in the far off middle east were not thought about. As such it’s the precursor of modern tropes such as (((**))), “those who wear little hats”, “I’m just an anti-zionist”, “some of my best friends are jews” and other such epithets.

  8. Cassie of Sydney says:

“For this old jew and most others, any variation of the the “arabs are semites so how can we be anti-semites” line is an instant giveaway that the person is a jew hater”

Correct. This Jew agrees. And “Romanitas” has outed himself again and again and again.

  9. Cassie of Sydney says:

“This post is entirely about the capital of Israel.”

Indeed and the capital of Israel is Jerusalem.

    Carry on.

  10. Cassie of Sydney says:

Oh and C.L, thank you for the picture of a great man, a tsadik, a mensch, a saint.

  11. Not Trampis says:

Sinclair Davidson , the man who did not understand the word predecessor even after a dictionary ( JC was far worse) makes yet another yet another absurd claim.

He shows his colours because by making Jerusalem the capital he denies a two state solution.

    now that is anti-semitic!

  12. Tel says:

Well, the UN decided in 1948 that the capital of Israel is Tel Aviv. Were they wrong and why so?

Who voted for a one world government?

Pretty sure they never asked me.

  13. Franx says:

And yet the message as I understood it was that it was not Jerusalem as such which is now claimed as the capital, but only West Jerusalem, whereby East Jerusalem remains something of a protectorate. I could be wrong, yet clarity and explanations would help. Now, Penny Wong may have acted unwisely for any number of reasons, yet by the same token, it does not aid discussions to smear those who are asking questions about Israeli politics as antisemites.

  14. C.L. says:

    Trampo loves terrorists.

  15. Tel says:

On the issue of who gets to define “Semitic” … it’s one of those things that’s been redefined into oblivion … kind of like “Liberal”.

Clearly the Iranian mullahs tend to be darker of skin that your typical Israeli PM but that’s kind of irrelevant, because we all know that racism is not their main incentive. It’s about religion, which in turn is about politics and power.

The Australian left wingers see the UN as their way to gain more power, by undermining national autonomy. The love groups like the WHO because they can claim emergency powers, then implement WHO “guidelines” with the full force of the state but claim no responsibility for outcomes because hey it was them other guys who told us what to do … we was just following orders. Power is the objective, consequences are ignored.

Personally, I would prefer not to support Israel materially … I would be happy to end foreign aid, and for that matter why do we give money to other countries like Pakistan? Heck, why do we give money to Indonesia when they go and buy Russian weapons?

On the other hand, I do support their right to figure out their own affairs … including national defense. If Israel wants to build walls to secure their borders that’s their choice.

And yes, many Palestinians are living hard lives for political reasons … and that’s a tragedy but I doubt any Australian politician is going to ride in on a white horse and fix that when our own country seems to be going downhill rapidly and they can’t even figure out how to reliably keep the lights on around here.

  16. Boambee John says:

    Non Mentis

He shows his colours because by making Jerusalem the capital he denies a two state solution.

Hardly a big deal, the Palestinians have already made their rejection of a two-state solution abundantly clear.

The phrase “From the river to the sea” is unknown to the pre-school failure, even though he has been asked about it multiple times.

  17. C.L. says:

‘Anti-Zionists’ are a bit like the left-wing extremists who claimed they were only interested in The Children during the Get Pell travesty. In fact, they didn’t care about children – as the most peremptory review of their current obsessions makes painfully obvious. They wanted to send an orthodox Christian standard-bearer and masculine straight-shooter to prison for opposing sodomy, ‘climate change’ and ‘the republic’ (in that order).

  18. Chris M says:

why do we give money to Indonesia when they go and buy Russian weapons?

The latter are so lame they should probably be encouraged to waste their money thus.

  19. Tel says:

Chris M they can waste their own money by all means … but hands off Australian money, paid for by Australian taxpayers.

As for quality of weapons … it’s inversely related to the number of troops you can muster. A large military with mediocre weapons can be very effective if those troops are willing to die for the cause.

Australians would not stomach the kind of losses seen on both sides in the Ukraine right now.
