Peter Dutton stood on a rake and got the thwack he deserved

Michelle Landry has accused the PM of “bullying” her in QT. Nonsense. It was a bravura rebuttal.

  1. C.L. says:

Yes, that’s the “rules-based order” Brussels is fighting for in Ukraine.

  2. C.L. says:

This was the scene today outside Parliament House – because Anthony Albanese had a bit of QT fun at the Opposition Leader’s expense. He wasn’t even addressing Landry.

    Don’t they all look happy?

    The Handmaid’s Tale

  4. Franx says:

NFA, have not read or seen the HT, yet I get the drift. Miserables yet not of the les miserables sort.

  5. Entropy says:

The thing about the Handmaids Tale is as usual, it says more about the left wing writers than it does about their enemies.

  6. Petros says:

I tried reading it. Gave up. Interesting concept. High school level prose.

  7. Not Trampis says:

I actually saw this at QT. When this ‘bullying’ claim came up I could only laugh. Albo thumped Dutton. It is why he said queenslander several times. it is why he was directly looking at Dutton.

I got to say QT is boring.

  8. C.L. says:

Question Time died with Rob Oakeshott.

    Bring back the biff:

  9. Not Trampis says:

alas costello could never best Swan in the treasury debates during an election campaign.
People seem to forget QT is always in the government’s favour.

Like Keating and others costello got confused on things. One time he thought a progressive expenditure tax was a consumption tax.

no wonder he always had a senior treasury official looking at question time to pick up any errors.

alas costello could never best Swan in the treasury debates during an election campaign.

But he made Swan look the fool he is in the budget outcome stakes. (Cue the usual inane response about “structural deficits” and “primary school dropouts” from the pre-school failure.)

  11. Not Trampis says:

Actually it was Costello who created the original structural deficit.
Tell me of the GFC he had to contend with.
di you ever notice all that tax he had at all.
Swan has a tax take lower than Costello in every budget he had. He also had tougher budgets which of course did not work as well. He is the only treasurer to cut spending in nominal terms as well as real terms.

you do like scoring own goals don’t you.

Stupid ,lazy and ignorant and proud of it.

How quickly you forgot the Asian financial crisis of the late 1990s. Early STML?

Swan has a tax take lower than Costello in every budget he had. He also had tougher budgets which of course did not work as well.

Are you saying that Swan failed to rise to the challenge? Damning him with faint praise?

  13. NFA says:

    @ real Trampis

It amazes me to see the socialist alliance shit dribbling out your keyboard.

  14. Not Trampis says:

costello did nothing then. The RBA allowed the currency to take the brunt and it worked.

I’m saying if you ever read budget papers the tax take he had was MUCh lower than costello ever had.

  15. Boambee John says:

Produce the figures, I don’t keep a stockpile of old budget papers.
