I would have had zero if I was left to my own decision. But I had to travel interstate and internationally and it was a legal requirement to get a vaccine certificate. And the Government assured me it was good for me.

  2. Riversutra says:

Not a single person said they were unvaccinated and regret the decision.

I had one shot because it was my job if not, working Defence sites.
The majority of people in my world still looked at me as if I was crazy not to keep putting an experimental drug in my body.
I would always reply ” I did enough of that in the early seventies”.

It’s why no one should take those Internet surveys too seriously … the people who feel more strongly about it tend to answer the survey. Also, it’s impossible to prevent double voting.

  5. Bruce of Newcastle says:

The Atlantic article seems to’ve set off a wave of outrage. Quite interesting that this was bubbling below the surface until the lefty Professor accidentally lit a match in a cellar full of extremely flammable material.

  6. Mantaray says:

I don’t quite get why this is a surprise to anyone……

When Novavax (a nearly normal vaccine) came out, various govt officials stated that it would prompt the “vax hesitant” to go get jabbed, and they then let slip that the original 51 million doses ordered would be received as planned.

Now, when it comes to $100 Billion worth of French subs, the same govt could easily decline to take them, and then pay a $4 Billion penalty since these were no longer needed. So why the 51 million Novovax…enough for 12-25 million “vax hesitant”, when the order could’ve been cancelled or reduced.

Well…probably because there were a lot of unjabbed.…many many times more than the alleged 1 million or so (that’s 5% of the eligible Oz population)….and now we know there were.

According to the article linked,64% of the citizenry did not get anything, or else no boosterss = have revolted against the F’wits…and waddya know, that’s about 12-15 million (see Novavax doses bought) vax hesitant, whether from the get-go or after the first claims that 2 doses of kill-shots would suffice were seen to be BS.

OK, so now that we know the huge majority of Aussies did not willingly submit, can readers and posters please stop denigrating the average person as a ‘gutless coward” and the like? It’s the authorities who are the gutless cowards so why not concentrate on THEM?

  7. Chris M says:

Can’t see the rest of the stats without an account.

We knew they were grossly over exaggerating the jabbed numbers because much lower numbers were shown for Australia on international websites.

Mantaray I read that less than 200,000 doses of Novavax were finally used, out of the 51 million ordered. Hopefully someone got some hefty graft at least.

  8. cuckoo says:

I’d like to know the figures on how many people who are ‘eligible’ for the fourth jab have actually taken it. I’d be guessing a percentage in the low double digits. Just as it may have taken a week or two, but mask wearers on Melbourne public transport are now a tiny minority.

  9. Petros says:

Has Queensland health mandated the third jab for their employees?

  10. C.L. says:

Not sure, Petros. I’m still waiting for the Archbishop of Brisbane to apologise for threatening to deprive church employees of the means to feed their families if they were not ‘vaccinated.’ In a November 2021 letter to them that deserves to live in theological infamy, he said he “will not consider conscientious objection… as a valid exception.”

  11. Franx says:

Coleridge was a different man in Melbourne, or so we thought.

  12. Entropy says:

Umm, those stats are pretty meaningless. Look at the size of the first group, when we know that proportion in the population is about 5%.

  13. Mantaray says:

Entropy (1.49pm). Do you mean 5% of the population that is alleged to be unvaxed? Already covered that laughable crap above at 9.24am….

Simple logic also indicates that had the take-up really been 95% there’d have been a certain slowing of the propaganda a long time before that. However, the reality that the gene-jab control-freak profiteers were ever shriller tends to suggest they were becoming frustrated at the true situation….

Brings us back to Novavax. Why did we not hear “OK you 1 million vax hesitant, we’ve got a protein sub-unit vax for you and 4 million doses to ensure you get 3-4 apiece. NOT 51 million we first ordered, since there really truly honestly are ONLY 1 million vax-hesistant“?

Anyone care to guess why the 51 million doses were ‘needed”?

  14. Petros says:

That’s terrible, CL. The long march through the institutions. How many martyrs would he have considered conscientious objectors if he was around in their time, and then banished them?

  15. Lee says:

Due to ongoing health problems and the very real fear that I might not get the medical attention I require in Dictator-for-Life Dan’s Victoria otherwise, I finally submitted and had the jab and later one booster shot in late 2021.
It’s something I have bitterly regretted not holding out against ever since.

If I wrote what I think of him, I would possibly be banned from this blog.

  17. Rosie says:

In late September the SMH had an article suggesting 13 million doses of novavax looked like being discarded because they had reached their expiry date.
Novavax is now available as a booster shot, it wasn’t for quite a while.
It was ordered early, took much longer than expected to be approved and as a consequence most people were already vaccination by the time it was available.
I’m pretty sure the statistics regarding vaccine uptake were/are pretty accurate, and like some others take the polling with a grain of salt.
even the ABC says the Australian government ordered too many doses.

Don’t do that to yourself, Lee. Your instincts didn’t fail you. Circumstances in life cannot always be finessed exactly as we might have preferred. We do our best.

  19. Lee says:

Thanks for the kind words, C.L.

  21. Rosie says:

Hey Fat Tony I remember you suggesting I was hell bound for calling struth, st ruth, seems now that shoe is on the other foot.

I’m also getting sick of being stalked around the internet by you.

I would like to echo C.L.’s words Lee.

    Stalk you Tokio Rosie???

I run into your spiteful and evil shite here – mostly I don’t comment.
But could you please prove that I “stalk you around the internet?”
Or is that just another one of your vicious lies… Fuck off.

  25. John of Mel says:

    when it comes to vaccination

OK, but what about the Wu-flu jab mixture?

  26. Rosie says:

Thanks for reiterating my point about having nothing to add except trolling my comments.

  27. Rosie says:

    Dear John
Did I mention I planned to get a booster before I travel overseas again?
I have no fear of the covid vaccine, any sort.

  28. John of Mel says:

It’s your choice Rosie. It’s good that you have that choice. I don’t agree with your decision, but I hope you live long and healthy life (i.e. happen to get the booster from a good batch).
Some people still don’t have a choice, if they want to keep their job and want to stay poison free.
And no matter how many times you repeat the official line by calling this a “vaccine”, it doesn’t make it so. It is not a vaccine. They changed the definition of the word to accommodate it. But you already know this.

  29. Fat Tony says:

Tokio Rosie: I asked a couple of days ago ” could you please prove that I “stalk you around the internet?”
Or is that just another one of your vicious lies…”

I see no proof offered so it looks like that assertion is just another one of your lies.
A typical “religious” person… nasty, spiteful & vicious whilst beating a religion drum.
    Sad.
