Grace & Care

Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian… I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making… but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care.”

If only my poor old Mum knew she could have outsourced motherhood like Rebel Wilson

    Baby ‘Roycie’ identifies as male.

  2. Dunny Brush says:

Surrogacy is sci-fi weird. It is a human honour for a woman to carry a sex conceived child and nothing can replace that. And it is a male honour to join that journey.

  3. Cassie of Sydney says:

    A few points….

    1. It is not a right to have a child.
    2. Surrogacy should be banned. It preys on poor women so as to use their wombs to carry someone’s child. It is no different to prostitution.
    3. Sperm donor insemination should be banned.

Please read Australian journalist Sarah Dingle’s Brave New Humans, Sarah is the product of sperm donor insemination. Two weeks ago, SBS aired Sarah’s documentary on the whole industry (and an industry it is). It’s harrowing and deeply upsetting.

  4. Cassie of Sydney says:

Oh, please let me clarify one sentence which relates directly to the story above about Ms Wilson.

It is rich men and rich women who prey on poor women so as to use their wombs to carry a child that is not there own.

I belong to a US organisation called “Stop Surrogacy Now”. You won’t read about it, because it doesn’t suit the narrative, but there are women who are dying from surrogacy.

Actually, I was too kind above, surrogacy is an obscenity.

The article does not state who the surrogate mother is, seems to be an afterthought. Probably somewhere like Malawi, where a woman would lucky to earn $10 per day. It is cynical exploitation maxed out. And to announce it to the world shows she has no sense of how other people may be appalled. The child does not have as good prognosis.

  6. Petros says:

She was going out with a man not long ago. Did she have a surrogate pregnancy on the go at the same time? He seemed gay btw.

  7. Bruce of Newcastle says:

So two lesbians get a third lady to carry the child, which is also female. I thought the only vertebrate parthenogenesis observed in nature is in some species of lizards.

  8. NFA says:

“It’s Time” to bring out the Tleilaxu Axlotl breeding tanks.

  9. Lee says:

If Wilson (and others like her) truly “care” for the surrogate mother she would have just made her a generous donation and let her keep her baby.

Instead, what she has done is nothing to be proud of at all.

  10. Lee says:

BTW, it is not “my” (Wilson’s) child, but someone else’s bought and paid for.

  11. C.L. says:

I presume many embryos were created and dumped in this “years in the making” process. And I’ll bet a thousand dollars the dumped ones were boys.

  13. Rosie says:

It’s amazing how often guys and lesbians only have offspring the same sex as themselves.
    Almost uncanny.
I suspect Ms Wilson’s surrogate was a family member or a friend as it all happened here, commercial surrogacy is apparently illegal in Australia.

  14. Rosie says:

I suspect the dramatic weight loss was because she planned to have ivf but then opted for surrogacy.

  15. Rosie says:

    I suspect many things.

  16. Dunny Brush says:

Rosie : I wouldn’t be so sure re: commercial surrogacy in Australia not happening. I knew a woman in North Queensland who carried several babies for handsome profit..

  17. Rosie says:

I’m sure it’s happening but I did say apparently illegal.
You’d want to be absolutely sure all your Is were crossed and your T’s dotted if you were going to go commercial within Australia.

If we are gonna say no to Marxism then it’s kind of necessary that rich people are allowed to spend their money buying services (i.e. labour) from other people with less money, who are looking for work.

Is it wrong for a rich family to pay someone to mow the lawn? Or to clean the house? What about walking the dog, is a poor person allowed hire themselves out for dog walking?

Am I allowed to admit that I’m a bit past the time when I can toss a fridge on the back of a truck … and just hire a couple of big Samoan guys who seem to be able to handle it? I kind of feel like that’s why I workd a job and saved money for a lot of years … precisely so I am able to use that money to offload the tasks I don’t wanna do myself.

  19. calli says:

    It is human trafficking.

Unless you call that “supplying a service”.

  20. Tel says:

Hey wait a moment, you have made an assertion there Calli … assertion about Rebel Wilson … can you back that up?

What do you define as “human trafficking” exactly? Did this surrogate mum enter the countey illegally or work without a permit? Was she mugged and carried away in a suitcase?

I did some searching and Rebel Wilson seems to be living in the USA … she’s pretty quiet in terms of protecting the privacy of the surrogate mum (for obvious reasons) which means the “innocent until proven guilty” system would apply, unless you have some specific information.

Maybe you think that surrogacy should be made illegal … what else then? Are you deadset against a wet nurse? How about bottle feeding and formula milk … downright unnatural, isn’t it? Babysitting might be next on the list. Babysitting means rich mums get to go out for the evening, there’s inequality right there.

  21. Franx says:

    Tel
A woman carrying a child, even one ‘donated’, is an event of mutuality, possibly one of love and respect, it being that the woman’s body not only enables the child to live but the child reciprocates in that a part the child forms an ongoing, indelible presence within her own body.
Surrogacy is not real, while motherhood is and is without price.
    Isaiah knew about this. 49:15
