The first communities which will get access to a free year of pre-kindergarten education have been announced.

Mount Druitt, Wagga Wagga, Kempsey, Nambucca, Bourke, Cobar and Coonamble will be the first to get access to the new year of education, introduced as part of a massive $5.8 billion reform of the early learning system announced by the NSW Government.

Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said the locations were chosen because research had shown the children starting school in those areas were more “developmentally vulnerable and the data shows us that there needs to be a focus on these particular communities”.

The five-day-a-week classes will kick off in early 2023.

By 2030 the government plans on having the program running statewide.

It means parents and carers will have the option of sending their child for a full year of education before kindergarten begins.

Initial classes will be held at existing early childhood services, with primary schools to take more of the classes as the program expands in the coming years.

Premier Dominic Perrottet said the move was a “major reform”.

“I want to be in a position in 2030 where right here in NSW every single child is enrolled in pre-K education because we know it works,” he said.

“We know it makes a difference and everything that we can do to support our young children and get (them) the best start in life, we will.”

Government subsidised indoctrination, that is the motivation, nothing more.

All from a so called right of centre Liberal government.

They will be annihilated in March 2023 and deservedly so.

  6. C.L. says:

Perrottet the fake Conservative Catholic is normalising the old USSR policy of getting toddlers away from their mothers as early as possible. And for the same reason: Motherland Economy.

Not even controversial, of course. The Daily Telegraph is promoting it and a Tele poll has shown most of its readers support 3 year-olds in “care” all day long. Matt Kean is selling it as “education” and even as the “silver bullet” that will turn around declining academic standards:

A whopping 75 per cent of readers believe the introduction of “pre-Kindergarten” is a good idea.

The vote comes as children in NSW will get access to an extra year of early education under a historic $5.8 billion policy to introduce universal pre-Kindergarten by 2030.

The measure, set to be the biggest headline reform in next week’s budget, is designed to turn lagging education standards around and set NSW children up for higher paying jobs when they leave school.

More than $5.8 billion will be set aside over 10 years to introduce an extra year of preschool education five days per week.

The policy would put roughly 130,000 children into free pre-Kindergarten education five days a week by 2030.

The classes would not be compulsory, but a similar policy in Canada has a take up rate of more than 90 per cent.

“This is incredible reform that will change lives and deliver enormous educational benefits for children across the state, securing a brighter future for NSW families,” Premier Dominic Perrottet said.

“We’re ensuring our youngest learners thrive by introducing a full year of preschool education before Kindergarten.”

Treasurer Matt Kean described universal pre-Kindergarten as a policy which would deliver “intergenerational results for our kids and the economy”.

Introducing universal pre-Kindergarten is specifically designed to lift the performance of NSW children at school.

It is seen by the government as the most effective way possible to fix declining education standards.

“All the evidence suggests that this is the closest you’ll get to a silver bullet when it comes to lifting our state’s education standards,” Mr Kean told The Daily Telegraph…

The Victorian government will also introduce its own pre-Kindergarten policy on Thursday.

In a joint statement, Mr Perrottet and Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews labelled universal pre-Kindergarten as “the greatest transformation of early education in a generation”.

Education Minister Sarah Mitchell said pre-Kindergarten will smooth children’s transition into school and give them a “specialised year of play-based learning”.

Mass, state-sponsored child abuse and family extermination – brought to you by Catholic Liberals – with the enthusiastic support of Daniel Andrews.

    Great quote for this, Jannie.

  9. Lee says:

It’s becoming almost impossible to tell the difference between the Liberals and Labor.

No wonder the Libs are looking increasingly unelectable, even (very sadly) in Victoria, ruined in just about every possible way by a bungling, hopeless, and corrupt Labor government and its dictatorial leader.

  10. NFA says:

In the year 2040, if mankind is still alive, everyone under 30 will be eating bugs, transgendered, living in communal dormitories to share “electricity” and voting will still be compulsory.

    It will be fun!

  12. Cassie of Sydney says:

C.L. I don’t know whether you caught PML last night on Sky. He had on the wonderful and beautiful Katherine Deves. You know, as much as I’d like to see Kath in parliament, whilst she is out of the sewer that is parliament she can at least speak her mind. She was asked about the spectacle of one of the few decent Liberals in parliament, Senator Alex Antic, asking questions of that clown, Professor Brendan Murphy, who stuttered and stammered when asked if only women can give birth. As Deves said, here in NSW we have a government being held hostage by a far-left homosexual creep called Alex Greenwich. Greenwich wants to erase women and biological reality from government. We women are being erased from language, from life, this is what sixty years of feminism has reduced us to.

Anyway, as Deves said, Perrottet is the father of five or six girls….how can he tolerate this? He could tell Greenwich to take a hike, ah but that would require courage, a trait missing in almost all conservatives. The NSW Coalition cling on to power by selling their souls to a sinister individual (Greenwich was behind the 2019 abortion laws).

As it is, the Coalition will rightly lose next year in a landslide. I will shed no tears for them.

  13. C.L. says:

I missed that, Cassie. I like Katherine Deves. She’s a solid thinker and comes across as a true citizen warrior.

Speaking of that sort, I am always happy to listen to Latham on PML. Incredibly, he is the only politician in Australia absolutely preoccupied with lifting educational standards in schools. He’s been pursuing reform for years. We know that the indices of performance have collapsed across the board but nobody cares.

    But wait!

Dom and Matt and Dan have the answer (nay, the SILVER BULLET): pre-kindy kindy for 3 year-olds.

Perrottet is gone. He’s in that late Liberal/Morro/net zero-and-electric cars photo op phase of decline and fall. He won’t be missed.

If you were a pre-school operator (and yes I know that’s a whole other kettle of fish) and you had invested your life savings into your business, you’d be pretty pissed if the government comes along and starts taking all the 4 year olds away from your business
