Yes, Santa Claus, There Is a Virginia

SPLENDID timing. The day before Victorians pass judgement on the Andrews junta, former High Court judge and ABC radio hostess Virginia Bell handed down her report into the largely contrived Morrison secret ministries flap. An Albanese freebie, this provided the kind of 24-hour distraction that even the Victorian Premier couldn’t sling someone a million to furnish. Daniel Andrews is the most incompetent and morally despicable state leader in Australian history. His government killed more people during a globally notorious and world-record ‘pandemic’ lockdown than any other in the Federation. Ordering citizens shot, children’s health destroyed, businesses shuttered, pregnant women mugged, elderly protesters bashed and the rule of law suspended, his regime is the closest thing to Axis Powers extremism ever seen in Australasia. His Iranian-style security wing, VicPol – the most criminally corrupt police force in the country – rigs prosecutions and imprisons enemies of the regime. Under Chairman Dan’s googly-eyed gaze, the debt-ravaged Victorian economy has been annihilated. But look over there: it’s ScaGo-ScoMo!

Then Aaron shall lay both his hands on the head of the live goat, and confess over it all the iniquities of the people of Israel, and all their transgressions, all their sins, putting them on the head of the goat, and sending it away into the wilderness by means of someone who is designated for the task. The goat shall bear on itself all their iniquities to a barren region; and the goat shall be set free in the wilderness.Leviticus 16:21–22

Customarily, a scapegoat is expedient, expendable and innocent. Two out of three ain’t bad but not even Meatloaf could ignore Scott Morrison’s culpability for allowing Australia to become a teenage party gone riotously wrong during the covid panic. He could have used the bully pulpit of his office, the Treasury and the Constitution to rein in the fascism of the states and territories but he didn’t. He joined in: imprisoning the population, lying about vaccine mandates, wrecking the budget for a generation, belittling his station by yielding authority to a non-existent “national cabinet” and even locking up a tennis player. These sins and negligences are the ones he should answer for at a Royal Commission – just as the premiers and paramount health officials should be held accountable for theirs – not for being sworn in as a just-in-case King Ralph. The former Prime Minister committed no crime. His shadow-ministering was born of a misplaced noblesse oblige, not venality. Yes, good governance, democratic transparency and parliamentary oversight were assaulted for three years – chiefly by the IBAC-hounded Andrews, his Labor confrerès and their media pom-pom brigade. It will take more than Albo’s Jan Sixerism to bury the truth.

Albo (and his own words virtually show it) is one of Andrews’ biggest brown-nosers, hardly an impartial judge or bystander.

Had Andrews been a Liberal premier I dare say Albo would be calling for a Royal Commission into Victorian government corruption.

  2. C.L. says:

Had Julia Gillard assumed back-up ministerial powers to cover for potentially convalescent or deceased comrades, Tingle, Gratton, Murpharoo and all the others would be praising her womanly multi-tasking and fortitude under pressure. A statue would already have been erected in Parliament House.

The Albo-Bell inquiry is partisan garbage.

For what they did during the “Pandemic”, both Federal & State, all involved people/organisations should be given a fair trial and hanged afterwards.

Their ABC are the real rulers of Australia.

The fact that Albo has an inquiry into Morrison, but re Dan Andrews, “nothing to see here”, and even defends him, says it all.

Look, I dislike Morrison as much as anyone; his principles are almost non-existent and he woefully failed on nearly every count as a PM and a Liberal, but the inquiry is blatantly a political stitch-up.

  6. NFA says:

Has Chairman Dan given his victory interview on their ABC yet?

  7. Bluey says:

The pandemic showed us as a country with laws, but not of law. One of the few rights we have is supposed to be free movement between states but tell me how that went the last couple of years.

The law is only for when it’s convenient. Will to power is the name of the game now.
