   The weirdness in this country about China is off the charts.
   Just about every day, The Australian runs a screamer about the Growing Fwet of China and the absolute importance of nuclear submarines! and other super-dooper! weapons that we have no chance of acquiring before 2050-60.

   Greg Sheridan had a piece a few days ago entitled “The time to start preparing for war with China is now.” Here’s a snippet:

   As for war with China Xi is not as stupid as Trump and it won’t happen.

   Biden owns the whole debacle, he said so himself.

   When Mr Biden entered the White House in January, he was keenly aware of the looming deadline and had time to meet it if he had chosen to do so.

   He began a review of the February 2020 agreement shortly after taking office, and has been consulting at length with his defence and military advisers as well as allies.

   In recent weeks, it became increasingly clear that he was leaning toward defying the deadline.

   “It’s going to be hard to meet the May 1 deadline,” Mr Biden said in late March.

   “Just in terms of tactical reasons, it’s hard to get those troops out.

   “And if we leave, we’re going to do so in a safe and orderly way.”

    Exemplified by the Trampis contributions here, the left has basically stopped bothering to even hide their egregious gaslighting, why bother when you know the apparatus of main stream media will cover for you as a matter of course. The next phase of this is starting with the not so subtle disciplining of main stream media supporters who mistakenly think that we still live in a democracy rather than an extreme left ideocracy that constantly frames ideological enemies of their agenda as enemies of the state.

    As I recall, I cancelled my The Australian subscription at one point over a particularly stupid article penned by John Lyons, I think it was some sort of the usual anti Israel drivel.
    The Sub was already under threat from the constant one topic tirade from Turnbull Booster and Abbott hater the Bittered Savv. But Lyins was the last straw.

    In Asia atm. Have not seen Albo’s face on the TV since I departed Melbourne. In fact the only thing I have seen on Australia is about the police shootings and that was breif. I did also see an Australian flag flying among others at Nong Nooch Gardens Sattahip yesterday. Few Aussie themed bars round where we are staying with friends at Banglamung. That pretty well much it.

    As normal the ALP has tickets on themselves and so do a few journalists. So does Trudeau but that has been evident for some time.

    Not wanting to denigrate Australia but want to be realistic about our pull which is no different to any multitude of other middle level players on world stage. Honestly we are seen rightly or wrongly as a US “deputy”. Especially by BRIC nations.
