Australians Told

Well we could always cut to the chase and invite the Chinese to take over.
That’s not as unappealing as it was only three years ago.
At least with them in charge we won’t be overrun by woke crap any more.
(I’m mostly joking. Being enslaved in a shoe factory or broken up for body parts would ruin my whole day.)
LOL.
Look, I may be the only one left who has this view but I have doubts that China will go to war against the entire world – over Taiwan or anything else. They’re not stupid. They know such a war – win or lose – will mark the utter destruction of their global economic empire. The trouble is they’re prestige-obsessed and have built a military to match. History – especially leading up to WWI – shows that prestige-driven build-ups can take on a strange life of their own and lead to war for entirely irrational reasons.
On the sovereignty issue, the idea that Australia will nuke up its Navy all thanks to the US and then say “no thanks” whenever a war comes along is not credible. It’s a peculiar debate all-round at the moment. The public is being told we’re buying and building all of these submarines to block China; we’re also told war with China is imminent. These two perspectives don’t match. If China is a threat, they’re not going to be good sports and wait decades till we’re ready. Then there is the cost. It must stick in the craw of the mums now reportedly skipping dinner to prioritise feeding their children that Albo is buying submarines.
The old phrase “heaping Pelion upon Ossa” comes to mind.
I agree CL.
They’re doing very well exchanging fossil fuels for solar panels and windmills.
Why ruin a good thing?
Your views don’t seem to have the great reset being considered at all.
Davos still just conspiracy theories?
We’re still the free west?
The UN all above board?
Putin bad, west good?
No, no, CL. It’s not going to be a “war” at all…
War threat grows: China now talking of ‘special operation’ in Taiwan (13 Mar)
Special operations are the new hotness; war is old and busted.
I can’t imagine where they got the idea…
Joint Special Operations Command Task Force in the Iraq War.
And the quote has arrived: $368 billion over 30 years.
This being a military procurement, it follows that the actual sum paid will be closer to 600 billion and take 40 years.
By which time, new drone subs will make the boats obsolete.
