  1. Franx says:

Several times before the collision the Russian fighter jets dumped fuel on the MQ-9 and flew in front of it in unsafe manoeuvres, the US military said in a statement.

The ABC as propaganda mouthpiece of the US military.
A Russian fighter jet playing chicken with a drone.
    As if.

  2. Christine says:

    “unprofessional” ? – that’s a little odd
It’s not funny, but it made me laugh.
When the bank teller addresses me as “my love”, I think it’s unprofessional.
But this is interaction of a fighter jet and a possibly-armed drone.

  3. C.L. says:

Nobody wants to admit that it was brilliant airmanship.

Almost like the Russians getting even with Maverick and Goose giving that MiG the bird.

    Arcane stuff.

  5. RacerX says:

The US said the drone was conducting a routine operation in international airspace

The US has engaged in a war with Russia, Russia is treating them accordingly.

Russia’s memory is longer than the US media’s attention span on things like blown up gas pipelines.

  6. Perfidious Albino says:

A ‘routine’ operation by an armed drone with its transponders switched off to keep it literally off the radar in international airspace. If ‘unprofessional’ is the best they’ve got then they must really have been caught with their pants down.

  7. John of Mel says:

For some reason ABC didn’t mention the best part of the statement:

“Several times before the collision, the Su-27s dumped fuel on and flew in front of the MQ-9 in a reckless, environmentally unsound and unprofessional manner. ”

Seems like even to ABC this part is so laughable, they decided to cover it up a bit.
