Close… The leader of the Greens demonstrating that some beginnings of wisdom end badly:
Labor knows renters and people with mortgages have already cut their spending. They’re bled dry. There is no slack in their budgets and they have no cash left for this rate rise. This is no longer a war on inflation, it’s Labor’s war on renters and mortgage holders. If Labor was serious about tackling inflation, they’d freeze rents, mortgages and power bills and tax the big corporations that are driving up prices and making record profits.”
He thinks they’re climate fodder: Everyday people ‘being used as cannon fodder’: Bandt.
Completely and utterly clueless moron.
How do Marxist Green dropkicks like Bandt keep getting elected?
For some more extremist Marxism. The Palaszczuk government in Qld now says the use of “Fraser Island” to describe same, is banned. It now HAS to be referred to as K’gari.
He’s an effective local member and the ALP had given up in the seat.
It’s just demographics, all the Blue Collar Industries are long gone from the Seat, which now has the highest Wage/Salary earners of any seat in Australia.
The other interesting fact is that it went from voting Right Wing to voting Far Left in the space of 1 term.
Gold for the ‘No’ case. Thanks, Chooky.
The media can obey; good luck with stopping us saying “Fraser”.
Didn’t know Aborigines used apostrophes.
‘Stacia could explain this theft.
too many senators per state.
It feels like about 30 years ago that the then Victorian government (ALP) tried to rename the Grampians ‘Gariwerd’. The name popped up again recently in a state-funded tourism campaign which, like most such ads, always seems to feature two young women holidaying together as a ‘typical’ couple.
Bandt isn’t a Senator.
They’ve got 3 MHRs in inner city Brisbane as well.
The problem is that there has to be twice the number of MHRs as Senators.
Chifley raised the number of MHRs from 76 to 121 in 1949, that’s where the problems started, like Syd Negus, Indy Senator who successfully campaigned to abolish Death Duties Tax.
Gold for the ‘No’ case. Thanks, Chooky.
Go Anna! 🙂

Fraser Island no more: K’gari’s official name change corrects a (sic) historic wrong

From the Guardian’s article:
Global heating? What the heck is that? Sounds like a name of a multinational company selling heaters.
Hey Adam how about allowing and encouraging coal, oil and gas extraction? When Trump threw open exploration and development the cost of energy halved, as I recall. That feeds to lower prices for everyone and everything! What’s not to like?
Bandt proves yet again that he has absolutely no idea how the rental market, business, and market forces generally work.
Fraser’s a shithole (literally if you camp, lazy rhymeswithrunts can’t dig a hole in sand?)
Given that many big companies are just the cats paw of the global elite, funded by the US printing press via blackrock, etc, and waging total political war against all decency, and the people of our nations, tax them at 100% who cares.
“You have to force behaviours”
– gajillionaire global bugman explains how new capitalism is actually just like old communism.
I’m inclined to agree – except they don’t pay their taxes; we do.
Weffers remind me of Il Duce with their unbearable hubris and pomposity.
Who knows, they might meet a similar fate.
Arbeit Macht Frei, I wonder if they will make lampshades from people who don’t comply with their forced behaviour?
The Greens keep blathering on another federal government’s supposed failure to use its powers to control rents. As Gray Connolly (a barrister) repeatedly points out, the Commonwealth has no such powers. The states do, but if course they don’t work. (Even Princess Allegra is pointing to the evidence that they don’t.)
But the Greens (and their adoring fans in the ABC and former Fairfax media) will never let facts and evidence get in the way of their adolescent lumpenMarxist ideology.
