Do I recall correctly that there was an amount of lying and detection on his part? If so, I can’t respect his conduct, and our community must protect itself against non – citizens who attempt to enter by such means.

  2. Ed Case says:

Joker got involved in playing politics, I think that’s what Peter was hinting at.
If he’s approached someone in TA and asked
“Look, I’m not comfortable about having this needle [even though I’m a Juicer], can we make something happen without a huge public song and dance?”
do you think TA woulda done something on the QT rather than have a week long political saga over it?

Anyway, the Australian Open shouldn’t be considered a Grand Slam Tournament, nobody would play it otherwise.

Djoko was deported after he was initially allowed in because he was unvaccinated. No other reason. The Liberals did that to him.

If so, I can’t respect his conduct, and our community must protect itself against non – citizens who attempt to enter by such means.

You demean yourself with such a pathetic attempt to defend the indefensible. Give yourself an uppercut.

  4. C.L. says:

I’m not aware of any “lies” he told.

I am aware of lies told by the governments of Australia – including the Morrison-Dutton government.

Tennis Australia doesn’t police visas and immigration.

Vaxxer zombies – back then, that was just about everybody – wanted to make an example of him. The mass psychology of it was straightforward: humiliated people always hate the man who rises above the humiliation they meekly accepted.

Dutton – who doesn’t subscribe to any genuine principle I’ve been able to identify – went along with the mob.

  5. Franx says:

Do I recall correctly that there was an amount of lying and detection on his part?

That’s not what the courts said. No, the the court finally said Djokovic had to go because we were a nation of dimwits who only got injected because we followed whoever appeared on our screens to tell us to so to.

  6. Lee says:

I am aware of lies told by the governments of Australia – including the Morrison-Dutton government.

Morrison lost his last shred of decency by backing the predominantly Labor states authoritarian vaccine mandates and endorsing the Andrews government police brutality towards peaceful protesters.

That was after lying about mandates not being enforced.

  7. NFA says:

How many million fauci-Vaccine shots did Morrison-Dutton-Hunt ‘foist’ on Australia?

  8. Ed Case says:

Do I recall correctly that there was an amount of lying and detection on his part?

Djoker played Ducks & Drakes over his Vaccine status, he embarrassed the Government and Peter Dutton suggests that he did that intentionally.
He tried to make a laughinstock of the Government and had to admit he came off second best.
The Liberal Party lost the Gay vote over it, but they took a principled stamd.

  9. NFA says:

Who did win the covid Open?

  10. Tel says:

… humiliated people always hate the man who rises above the humiliation they meekly accepted.

Can you think of a shorter way to say that? I’m aiming for something that would fit on a T-Shirt.

  11. Ed Case says:

How many million fauci-Vaccine shots did Morrison-Dutton-Hunt ‘foist’ on Australia?

Every Government in the world did.
Australian didn’t Mandate the Vaccine, so we performed better than 98% of the World.
4 African Leaders didssed the Vax.
    They all diedb shortlyn afterwards.

  12. NFA says:

Ed Case is a google ai bot…

  13. Franx says:

The judges who deemed Djokovic a moral danger due to his influencing the dimwit population to maybe think twice about being injected were themselves exempt from being injected. Such was the brutality of the boot in the face. To see it differently is to wear the imprint.

  14. Ed Case says:

The Vax was a Compliance Test.
Plenty of intelligent people failed, plenty of dimwits refused.

    The whole episode was miserable.
Politicians and “health professionals” were fretting –
a champion tennis player might lead people astray and people had to be kept Safe. There’s a heap of people who never watch the tennis.

But after all, the authoritarians had already witnessed their success in this regard, with the dimwits checking screens daily for the latest scaremongering.

  16. Christine says:

I’m going out on a limb
It was never going to be dire here; it didn’t stop a dimwitted ‘doctor’ announcing at the beginning that we were “three weeks behind Italy”. Any person who knew anything about Italy saw this prediction/warning as a grandstanding exaggeration.
The panic was all down to the frightened hospital doctors.

  17. Franx says:

The panic was all down to the frightened hospital doctors.

Yes. And all up to the the federal Liberals to say differently.

So your a dimwit then Ed Case?

  19. Rafiki says:

Well now, when I googled for information I got a media report that Djokovic admitted that his visa application contained incorrect information. I should have done this before posting my question ( and not an assertion). Apart from saying that I did raise an important issue, viz., the integrity of our immigration controls I’ll leave it at that, but add that the gross breaches of basic civil liberties, and the pusillanimous curial response, was shameful.

  20. Buccaneer says:

People who make vaccination a compliance test create an unacceptable risk that the social licence for vaccination may be withdrawn. Vaccination has always been voluntary simply because every vaccine can and will have side effects for some people. It’s the job of health authorities to carefully weigh up the risk versus reward and clearly advise the population when that risk doesn’t warrant taking it for subsections of the community. This clearly did not happen with Covid, even during the pandemic, it was clear the risks were greater than the rewards for anyone under 30 and tenuous for anyone under 50, maybe 60.

They have damaged vaccines for legitimate purposes. This is frankly terrible and no one seems to be likely to pay a price.

    Yeah…

Just like “THE LAW” stuck it to that former NSW Premier.

Maybe we can get rid of most of “THE LAW” that allows this in the first place.

But hey, “THE LAW” will stop me from saying this because!

““I hope Mr Djokovic has some regret about some elements of his conduct…” – Peter Dutton, 2022”

I live in hope that Liberals such as Peter Dutton, Karen Andrews and others might show some decency and publicly regret their government’s thoroughly illiberal conduct from early 2020 through to 2022, conduct which caused massive social, psychological, emotional and economic damage to Australians. Yeah, I know, I’ll probably be waiting a long time.

I should remind people that when elected leader after the federal election loss last year, Peter Dutton said that the Liberal Party stood for “liberal values”….yeah, whatever, sometimes you just have to laugh at the state of the Liberal Party in 2023.

By the way, the Oz is reporting that Moira Deeming’s lawyers are giving John Pesutto seven days to make amends, or she’ll initiate Federal Court proceedings. Good.

  24. Ed Case says:

People who make vaccination a compliance test create an unacceptable risk that the social licence for vaccination may be withdrawn.

    Huh?
Is this today’s ALP talking point?

  25. NFA says:

No way can Pesutto “make amends”.

The entire Australian false vote gathering organization called ‘The Liberal Party of Australia’ cannot make amends to Deeming nor their benighted former voters.

I will never forget, much less forgive.

back then, that was just about everybody

But not myself. How I managed to rustle up the mental strength (and yes, this was a battle in the mind) to resist the overweening fascism at the time is beyond me.

Sometimes you just do what you have to do, if you want to live with yourself … 😕

  29. Tel says:

At a guess, he probably regrets ever coming to Australia … and if he knew in advance how he would be treated he very likely never would have bothered to show up.

As to whether Djokovic actually made a sacrifice, there’s no way to measure the counter factual as to what risk he was up against if he got himself jabbed but the stats indicate that far more sportsmen had heart problems than normal.

Sometimes you just do what you have to do, if you want to live with yourself … 😕

As soon as they went down the path of bullying people into taking their product, I knew the stuff could not be real good. I ended up getting the Rona at the end of 2022 … which is about when most of the East coast of Australia was also getting it and our World Health Whackers didn’t even bother showing graphs and stuff anymore by that stage. Yeah, I got sick at the time, so I stayed home for two weeks. I know plenty of vacksed people who also got the same thing … some were a bit more of less sick than I was. At best it might reduce the severity, a bit, for some people, sometimes. IMHO not good enough to go around bullying people over, and I feel perfectly fine about never taking it.

  30. Buccaneer says:

Ed, you clearly are an incompetent

  31. Mantaray says:

Rabz (7.27pm)…and others. I never believed the story that most people got the gene-jabs. Still don’t. I’m wondering if even 50% succumbed. Here’s why…

First is the intensity of the threatening, bullying, cajoling etc which ran 24/7. It still goes on, as can be seen by the warnings on ALL even slightly sceptical Youtube videos where the Oz govt has health warnings.. Example: Mass death and harm in Western Australia’s official stats: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1l6Q2r5VWLo….Dr John Campbell. This indicates mass non–compliance.

Also, the curious case of Novovax, the more traditional vax which came in late in the vax rollout. Said to be “for the vax hesitant” there were 51 million doses delivered which was / is enough for at least 15-17 million hesitant. Bearin in mind that these coulda been cancelled even if there was a penalty clause (a hundred million bucks?)…in the manner of the $5 Billion blown on cancelling teh French subs, but wasn’t, I’m guessing the is indicates a LOT MORE hesitant than the liars admitted.

PLUS, having read “1984” a dozen times, the case of “official shoe production stats” at the Ministry of Truth is my guide. Was it 10 million pairs, or two million pairs? Or NONE AT ALL? Winston didfn’t know, and how could anyone know?

Final words: I heard a blurb on the radio whilst driving yesterday, that “authorities are concerned” that less than 30% of eligibles are getting “flu vaxed this year: the lowest number in multiple decades”. The common folk may not NOT be so compliant as we smartest-in-the-room like to think!

  33. bollux says:

Djokovic showed himself to be a man, unlike Dutton and the other “holier than thou” vax posers. Showed them up for the corrupted fools that they are. There is no way on earth to prove or disprove that the vax helped to lessen covid. Just asl yourself why the government banned early treatment with Ivermectin, amongst others. I know of people who have had Covid several times whilst being fully jabbed, and people like myself who never jabbed, never caught Covid either.

  34. cuckoo says:

less than 30% of eligibles are getting “flu vaxed this year: the lowest number in multiple decades

Fascinating if true, and it probably is. The regime mouthpieces are now daring to speculate about “vaccine fatigue”. Fancy that.

  35. I took the flu jab for a number of years up to 2021, I think. For some of those years it was provided free by my employer, some I paid for on the basis of a fee of $15.00 or so against the chance of being waylaid for a couple of weeks. I remember the first time rendered me totally flat for my gym session that evening, but otherwise nothing more noticeable than the occasional drop of blood on the cotton wool ball once it fell off. For 2021 I wanted it on the basis that the small chance of influenza and covid simultaneously might be risky.

Never took a Covid jab as by the time they became available it was apparent that I was not really at risk with my age and health profile. My wife and I were both able to avoid the coercion while feeling like the bullfighter in the meme just missing the bull’s horns on a number of occasions.

Got covid while on holidays at my in-laws’ holiday house. One at a time, kids then us parents. A bit like a cold but scrambled – symptoms out of order. I slept for a day and was back to beach walks and kayaking soon after. Similar for the rest of us. We managed to obtain medical certificates exempting us from the jab that covered just long enough. Once the Dannistan restrictions were lifted I was happy to return to the office. My wife could work from home and dodge the waning mandates being held over her head.

I got covid a second time around September. Same as the first time but not as severe. I worked from home until I felt a safe time had passed.

Big Chemist still sent a reminder for the flu jab this winter. No thanks. Not after the last three years. I’ll take my chances.

  36. Ed Case says:

less than 30% of eligibles are getting “flu vaxed this year: the lowest number in multiple decades

One of the statements from Big Sick shills selling the COVID Vax was along the lines of:

Yeah, all the other Vaccines did have side effects, but this is the safest vaccine ever
Anyone who got vaccinated for anything after hearing that has only themselves to blame.

  37. NFA says:

So you didn’t take the Covid Vaccine, Ed Case.
