    Bring on the trans!

  2. and says:

    Is this a lespian problem?

    Apparently, there’s been “a hundred years of under-investment in women’s football…”

  3. NFA says:

You can’t play football, of any description, on your knees.

    Maybe they should stand up!

  4. shatterzzz says:

Simple solution! .. if your knees hurt .. try another sport .. she makes it sound like the game is compulsory .. LOL!

    Too bad.
So silly; the earnest ABC types must take it seriously.

    For a hundred long years.
In her mind, the women players have been treated like “little men”.

  6. cuckoo says:

They must be so proud: they’ve just had their first female rugby player with long-term concussion issues. E-kwalidee!

Saw a recent article which tried to explain the utter collapse in ratings for broadcasts of AFLW matches in terms of (a) poor technical quality of the broadcasts and (b) ‘football fatigue’. Yeah, right.

As a current watcher of the Tour de France, I’d love to know what the comparative ratings are for the subsequent ‘Femmes’ Tour broadcast.

  7. cuckoo says:

Theories as to why women are more likely to suffer from ACL injuries range from women playing in boots designed for men to anatomical differences in female players and changing hormones during women’s menstrual cycles.

I didn’t know there even was one! Not that I’m a cycling fan at all.

“The entire high-performance environment is designed by men for men,” Walsh said.

There’s a reason for that. See if you can join the dots Sarah.

Hint: The Newcastle u/15 boys team beat the Matildas 7-0 a few years ago.

  10. and says:

Hang on a sec. Is this woman claiming that, physically, there is a difference between men and women?

Transmania leads the way to the Farterland

Tasmania is the first state to officially recognise those who identify as asexual, adding the A to LGBTIQ+

    That’s their excuse.

From the bits and pieces of AFLW matches I had the misfortune to see on TV several years ago, I would say their biggest problem is the abysmal standard of the football.

The only reason to watch it is the comedy value of listening to male sportscasters whipping themselves up into frenzies of simulated excitement over what CL once described as baby hippos chasing a watermelon.

  14. A reader says:

Cuckoo: it doesn’t rate anywhere near the men’s event as you’d expect (but then there hasn’t been the same opportunity for it to) but it’s comparable to a lot of other (men’s) cycling broadcasts. Women’s racing is usually more hard core with continual attacking. You rarely see days of a breakaway 10 minutes up the road and 5 hours of slowly catching it.

  15. Nix says:

Obviously a lot of people here have no kids. Or if they do, don’t talk to them.

  16. NFA says:

Another example of Nix retailing his fantasy mind
