    Malaysia is pretty conservative especially in northern states.Whilst I lived there a guy got arrested for wearing shorts on the way to a futsal game.The religious police fined him heavily and had him doing re education.
    A hairdresser didnt want to cut non Muslim hair and a laundromat didnt want to wash non Muslim clothes so its no surprise.
    If you are gay over there, no problems if you are discreet but any thing in public, you are screwed.
    Even non married hetero couples can get into strife in hotels.The receptionist will call the religious police and pick up a spotters fee although foreigners are usuually left alone.
