Taking that Redbridge poll with the usual grain of salt, but it even has No ahead of Yes by ten percent (55/45) in the Democratic Peoples’ Republic of Victoria. Amazing if true.
As for Albo’s admonition, this is a crushing blow on top of Marcia Langton’s threat to provide no more welcome-to-countrys if the referendum fails.
And Pearson’s heart-rending declaration that we’ll never hear from him again.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The Hunchback is pressing ahead with treaty. There’s already a “first peoples’ assembly of Victoria”.

SFL’s should now announce that they will take constitutional recognition to the next election and explicitly state that if people don’t like what Albo is proposing they can just wait him out.
Not a bad idea.

No one likes being told: “Just do it”.
Bob’Scarr has broken down. Scrapheap. In the name of decency.
Look at that photo of Albanese – what a hobo –
and he believes he’s got what it takes to win us over.

Woohoo.
There are a few Victorian rocks a decent investigative journalist ought to be turning over.
How much taxpayer’s money is being wasted on quests for knapped flints?
The Victorian government is in voluntary thrall to aboriginal corporation mafias.
Who benefits?
Good.
Meanwhile Noel Pearson is in the Sunday paper telling us that if we don’t vote yes, children will die. No, seriously.

‘Alarm bells’ as Thorpe allies elected to lead Indigenous body
Tensions have emerged among Victoria’s Indigenous assembly, after the election of Lidia Thorpe’s cousin and his wife to key leadership positions.

CL that is terrifying. When did we agree to the extinguishment of access to Crown Land and Private Property rights in this country?
If the Voice gets up, they could well be coming for your house and land.
And there will be nothing you can do about it.

1996 – John Howard
what Fat Tony says @ 6 August, 2023 at 6:51 pm
John Howard/Malcolm Fraser were and are and always will be ‘filth’ as far as I am concerned.
Just another Marxist attempt to take everything and leave nothing dressed up to look thoughtful and caring.
Sad how many fall for it. If the latest polling is to be believed, it’s the well-educated and wealthy who are too jolly dumb to see it for what it is.
I’m proud to be a dumb boy from the bush.
This sounds like Albo laying the groundwork for weaseling out of creating an extra-constitutional Voice if the Referendum fails. If it’s not going to serve as a Constitutionally-enshrined roadblock/minefield for future Coalition governments, then it’s of no interest or use to the ALP.
No, of course he isn’t. Until he does, which will no doubt be a full on WA style assault on private property rights, leavened with lots of ongoing extortion.
I believe 99.9% of Aussies could vote no and the yes vote would still get up.
Anyone who thinks we have a functioning democracy and our elections are all above board after the last three years needs help.
Only Denialism can have you worried about who is voting yes or no, and not worried about how the votes are counted.
