  1. Lee says:

He was making reference to an appearance Senator Cash made on former senator Cory Bernardi’s Sky News program in April, when he compared the Voice to apartheid.

I disagree with Cash to the extent that Bernardi is 100% correct.

Albo is up to his usual modus operandi, and being very economical with the truth.

  2. Buccaneer says:

Are there communities in Australia where one needs a permit to visit if they are not indigenous?

  3. C.L. says:

I suppose there’s a small benefit in adding to the perception that Yessers are abusive but, as Lee says, it is apartheid; ergo, those who say so should stick to their guns.

  4. jupes says:

Apartheid: a policy or system of segregation or discrimination on grounds of race. There it is. The Yes case in a nutshell. There is no other way to see it.

Once again, the SFLs squib it on the most important point.

    Absolutely.

Even if you do apologise for stating a fact, the left never forgives nor forgets that you hit the target.

Pretty much all remote communities, Buccaneer. Got to protect sacred country which is now used to store contraband.

  7. Mantaray says:

Shy Ted. Didn’t Buccy mean “Are there non-indigenous communities which require a permit to be entered?” ie the same way Indigenous communities can exclude anyone they don’t want.

BTW: Was over at Woorabinda (near Duaringa / Blackwater in Qld) in March.,,,,https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woorabinda,_Queensland….A mate has a cattle property between Theodore and Krakow and has dealings with them. They try to keep random visitors out, but are pretty OK once they know you a bit.

  8. Buccaneer says:

Apartheid didnt start with one event or piece of legislation, it seems to have started with non formal practices of discrimination that were formalised over years with lots of pieces of legislation . The voice might not be what apartheid became over decades but there seem to be parallels, particularly when one looks at the activist agenda, an agenda Albo has been careful not to repudiate

    Thanks for the links

  10. Rafiki says:

In the staute book of the ACT there will be many examples of laws that confer benefits upon Aboriginals across a very wide spectrum of social and economic activity. One set has the effect of making it more difficult for the police to investigate and prosecute crime. There are special rules governing sentencing aimed at more lenient outcomes.
Add them all up and one has an aparthied system, although in respect of conferring benefits and not detriments.

As is the case with the Voice proposal, these laws derogate from the right to equality under the law as it is stated in section 10 of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Commonwealth).
