    Media assistance in digging?

CBC: No evidence of human remains found beneath church at Pine Creek Residential School site.

No evidence of human remains has been found during the excavation of a Catholic church basement on the site of a former Manitoba residential school.

Chief Derek Nepinak of Minegoziibe Anishinabe shared the results of the four-week excavation in a social media video Friday. He said the outcome takes “nothing away from the difficult truths experienced by our families who attended the residential school in Pine Creek.”

[Except that those ‘truths’ were lies – CL].

Fourteen anomalies were detected using ground-penetrating radar in the basement of the church on the site of the former Pine Creek Residential School last year. Survivors had spoken about “horror stories” in the basement…”

Spiritual advisers led a pipe ceremony when the search began and a sacred fire was lit nearby to ensure elders, survivors and intergenerational survivors felt supported. Nepinak said the search should be an example about how to use an Indigenous-led approach that respects survivors.

Nepinak said he is aware the results will feed into a denialist narrative of what happened at residential schools and urged people to continue supporting the search for truth.

    Of course it was nonsense.
The children at these schools had families. They wouldn’t have been disappeared in large numbers, or even once, without someone knowing.
Is there a single family saying our son, brother, uncle went off to school and just disappeared with us maintaining complete silence for fear of, what, exactly?

  4. C.L. says:

    Not one.

Just as not one Aborigine has been identified who was “stolen” for being an Aborigine.

    And the upshot in Canada?

A map of the 83 churches that have been vandalized or burned since the residential schools announcement.

Matt Walsh at the Daily Wire has had his say on this a few a times, the last a couple of days ago, where he made the point that some leftists appear to be bitterly disappointed at the complete absence of mass graves:

I suppose it’s expecting far too much for lowlife scum, Trudeau to issue a public apology to Christians and the Church in Canada?

On the subject of “denialism,” a very real (as opposed to fake) instance of it exists in Australia, from the left; denial of the fact that the extent of rape and abuse, even murder, of children and women in outback communities is a huge problem.

    Of course they are.

I hate to be accused of invoking Godwin’s Law, but growing comparisons of Canada with Nazi Germany re euthanasia are valid.

    Demonic.

  8. Buccaneer says:

Manufactured grievance to curate a favoured group for reliable votes and entrench a blank cheque mandate

  9. Old Lefty says:

Don’t expect our ABC to report this.

Here is an ABC report on the principal of some school somewhere:

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-08-24/shayne-harris-sentenced-sending-picture-police-posing-as-teen/102760640

We can safely assume it’s a state school, although Aunty would never be so indelicate as to say so.

Meanwhile the ABC worker soviet is going full Milligan again on historic Catholic cases from 50+ years ago, and on Malka Leifer.

  10. Christine says:

What’s “dark and sinister” is the disappointment that no human remains have been found.

  11. cuckoo says:

The first of these ‘cases’ I ever heard about involved a ‘house of horrors’ orphanage on Jersey in which a human skull fragment had been found. Which turned out to be a piece of coconut shell.

I look forward to seeing the report about this on the SBS bulletin this evening at one minute past seven (when their audience turns over to the ABC).

Nepinak said he is aware the results will feed into a denialist narrative

Just as our establishment, in the wake of entirely predictable revelations about the miscounting of COVID death statistics, is concerned not about the dishonesty itself, but that the fact that they were shown to be lying will “feed into a denialist narrative”.

  13. Bruce of Newcastle says:

How many churches were burned down this time? Last time it was about 50, all based on a fraudulent “study”. I still haven’t heard if anyone was caught and prosecuted for arson.

    denialist narrative

    Also known as “the truth”.

  15. Shy Ted says:

Clearly white men destroyed all the evidence. Like they did in Oz with all the pre-colonial infrastucture.
