    That will only make things worse for them.

    I said on Catallaxy that the NY trial was a real own goal by Trump and his lawyers.There is now a summary judgement that fraud has been committed and they have lost the licence to operate in NY.
    The trial will be a bloodbath with this judgement .All unnecessary as they were trying to get the case tossed.Fat chance of that in NY.

    My lawyer colleague explained the NY fraud case to me yesterday. Trump could go broke on this and there’s no good appeal as it’s purely on the facts rather than any consideration of what Trump intended. I did think it amusing that he told lenders his NY apartment was 30,000 sq ft when it was actual 11,000. You’d think they might notice. But I suspect the silly thing he did was in evidence to the effect that Saudis would bail him out of any “valuation” trouble, which tends to confirm what many think of his son-in-law’s “investment” fund.

    Lee: my experience was of what we call the rock-ribbed Republicans. They didn’t like Trump hiking debt and they were very angry when he went pro-abortion. The criminal stuff is the last straw. You might also keep in mind that parts of California are shifting towards GOP because of the way Democrats have let the place slip into very bad outcomes. Cities are now really unhappy places. There’s a lot of GOP money in California.
