  1. Baba says:

Does this mean SBS has to junk all it’s Hitler documentaries or somehow geofence their broadcast?

  2. C.L. says:

Note that my header isn’t an exaggeration.

The legislation gives the Attorney-General power to ban any new symbol or hatey thing – without further recourse to Parliament.

That includes the ‘crime’ of “gender identity vilification.”

Punishable by three years in prison.

This is another Queensland Labor three shell trick.

It isn’t about the swastika. It’s about arresting enemies of left-wing extremism.

And a new ‘crime’: “gender identity vilification.”

You’d get less time if you just kicked the sh*t out of them.

  4. Baba says:

In less than a lifetime we have gone from, “Please don’t say that, it’s bad manners” to “You can’t say that, it’s criminal hate speech”.

  5. Petros says:

No doubt the muscular Libs will very clearly denounce this legislation. That’s sarcasm if you can’t tell.

  6. Ed Case says:

If it’s intended to stop the ‘3rd Wave Feminists’ [man hating lezzos] from pulling stunts in Public Places, then it’s not a bad idea, if heavy handed.
Not a Labor voter, but Palaszczuk has been the best Premier since Vince Gair, and Gair had a lot more room to maneuver.

  7. Petros says:

Or they can use it against them and ban the hammer and sickle, and Che Guevara T-shirts.

  8. Ed Case says:

No one’s gatecrashin g phony rallies while sporting the Hammer & Sickle, though it is far more sinister than the ol’ Hakenkreuz.
I think this could work if it keeps Moira and the Grampians gang outta Queensland.

  9. Rockdoctor says:

    How bout allahu akbar.

Seems to be a war cry to encourage rape and pillage.

    Is Chrisifulli supporting this crap?

  10. C.L. says:

    Ed, you’re being silly.
Under the Chook, the budget has been destroyed as it never has been before. Civil liberties were destroyed as they never have been before. Wellcamp alone is the biggest administrative catastrophe in the history of the state.

So when you say she’s the greatest since Gair, you’re being ridiculous.

And no, giving D’Ath the personal power to ban anything any time won’t “work”. It didn’t work for Newman when he decided to ban bikie belt buckles and patches either. Moira Deeming isn’t part of a “gang” – unless that’s what you’re calling women these days.

It didn’t work for Newman when he decided to ban bikie belt buckles and patches either.

    Wasn’that his vicious lawless…legislation?
Which didn’t actually mention bikies, if I recall. Many people up here were very concerned with the potential over-reach of this legislation, and was one of the reasons he got booted out of office.

  12. Ed Case says:

C.L, during the Pandemic I could still go to work, the cops didn’t shoot me or anyone else in Qld with rubber bullets, I had freedom of movement and I didn’t lose a days work, despite never being vaccinated.
And my Vax status was never queried.
I hear it was quite different in the other States.
I give Palaszczuk credit for keeping it real up here and I’ll be sorry to see her go.
Vince Gair understood that rabblerousers had to be dealt with firmly or they end up setting the agenda.
My opinion is that this Legislation is preventive and Santa and his reindeer can still
land on the roof on Christmas Morning.

Moira Deeming isn’t part of a “gang” – unless that’s what you’re calling women these days.
    Okay.
The Legislation specifically mentions Transsexuals and gives the Minister the Powers to make on the spot decisions.
The reality is that the 3rd Wave feminists don’t enjoy popular support and their anti Trans events have ended in riots in the past.
In the interests of keeping the peace, it’s preferable if their even s are kept out of Queensland.
They can always hold a rally in Tweed Heads?

  14. C.L. says:

C.L, during the Pandemic I could still go to work, the cops didn’t shoot me or anyone else in Qld with rubber bullets…

That’s great, Ed. At least one elderly man died in a car park because Chook wouldn’t let him cross the border. She also famously declared that non-Queenslanders shouldn’t be treated in the state’s hospitals.

Deeming has nothing to do with “third wave feminism.” She wants to be able to use a loo without being accosted by perverts. That isn’t any “wave” of feminism. It’s just a mentally normal expectation.

  15. Bazinga says:

Can we add other collectivist symbols, the red star, hammer and sickle, swastika etc.
