  1. Entropy says:

What did she think was in there? An SM party? Perhaps a touch of satanism and the drinking of babies’ blood?
Regardless, the hosts had PK correctly sized up.

  2. C.L. says:

What exactly does the word ‘but’ convey here?

The narrative was that there wasn’t anything other than canapés. But Australia’s richest woman Gina Rinehart was there…

That Rinehart only attends functions where at least three courses are served?

Or that Rinehart was herself the main?

  3. Franx says:

It sounds as if Karvelas is using ‘narrative’ to mean ‘a lie’. That’d be because journalism.

  4. Wally Dali says:

Oh stop, Pats, my schadenboner can only get so engorged…
Decries Twitter as a dangerous sewer for hate, wrongspeak and wing-ding conspiracy theories…
…and proceeds to confirm it for us. Midwits just can’t keep off the x box.

  5. Ed Case says:

Rinehart is like the female Rupert Murdoch for the Labor luvvies – she buys the drinks and gets them invited, they provide the free publicity.
    I’m sure it’s a symbiotic relationship.

  6. Christine says:

She appeared on the SBS news report of the Brisbane gathering,
    shut out,
prowling about looking hungry and unwanted.

The awful witch. She said we voted No because we were ‘confused’.

  7. Sahul Rex says:

Hello, Police? Someone is having a party. I’ve seen canapes enter and I’m sure there is also
    Russian caviar.

    Please hurry

  8. Ed Case says:

It’s a narrative worth pursuing from their point of view.
Peter Dutton has created a power vacuum by his wishy washiness on the issue.
All he had to say was that it’s an obvious scam, any 24 unelected people placed in a priviledged position regarding giving Formal Advice to the Executive is going to give Advice that benefits them, it’s a No Brainer.
Instead, Dutton dithered, and he was still dithering last night.
Many voters this last 2 weeks knew what they wanted to do, and if this had been a Federal Election, NO woulda won 118 Seats and The Greens woulda won the other 33, controlling Canberra and every capital city CBD in Australia.

  9. Buccaneer says:

No, it’s not a narrative worth a pinch of piss, to somehow pretend the real story here isn’t the complete failure of a first term PM to even take his base along on the first thing he said on election night, is totally dishonest.
