  1. Buccaneer says:

There will be another conflict to drag the Biden admin into, and another, until the US can no longer afford to launder money back through the elites. The only question is which proxy will be the next one that forces the US to send equipment to.

They are testing the limits of US capacity.

  2. C.L. says:

I think the limit was reached and exceeded a long time ago.

The United States has become a communist basket case.

  3. Buccaneer says:

There is pressure to move away from USD as the reserve currency, once this occurs the special treatment the US receives that enables them to borrow well beyond other nations with no IMF intervention will subside. Then US taxpayers will be left with a genuinely failed state.

All without the Chinese firing a shot. Should they need military action, they will have already tested the US capacity in the field and in supply.

The withdrawal of the UK from its colonies and its demise as a prominent power is the template, make them overextend themselves.

  4. NFA says:

I am genuinely fearful for the continuing existence of Israel, let alone Ukraine.

With friends like the communist US, EU, UN supporting you, who needs enemies?

  5. C.L. says:

    Indeed.

The US is currently at war in Yemen and Ukraine, has two carriers in the Med, wants to be able to go to war with China, wants to save Israel, wants to create a brand new nuclear submarine fleet etc. At the same time, it has shut down its manufacturing and banned energy exploration + fossil fuels. Domestically, the country has ceased being a democracy, its intelligence agencies are out of control and its border no longer exists.

Ergo: Israel really needs undivided and reliable support. That would be a lot more certain were it not for the Ukraine debacle.

  6. Ed Case says:

I’d tend to disagree with ol’ J.D. on this one.
At the start of the Great War [1914], something like 90% of Ashkenazi Jewry lived in Galicia and Ruthenia [Ukraine minus the Donbas] so, yeah, this part of the world is home for a great many Israelis.
Stalin deported the Crimean Jews en masse in 1941, plenty of those ended up in Israel, but Crimea is their ancestral home.

  7. NFA says:

    Sure Ed.

And before the sack of Jerusalem circa 70AD 90% of Jews lived in some place called Israel.

And before 600AD there was nothing called Islam.

  8. Ed Case says:

And before the sack of Jerusalem circa 70AD 90% of Jews lived in some place called Israel.
    That’s incorrect, NFA.
The Kingdom of Israel ceased to exist c.723 BC, when the Assyrians destroyed the Kingdom. Something similar happened to Judah in 586 BC. the survivors, minus the vinedresses and herdsmen, were carried off to Babylon. Some returned after 70 years, but most stayed in Babylon and prospered.
Jews were very numerous in the Ancient World, since their religion was proselytising at that time, similar to Christianity later.
You may recall Jesus of Nazareth criticising the Pharisees for making converts who became 10 times the Son of the Devil than they themselves were.
So, no, Jews were very numerous since Antiquity, throughout the Roman Empire and Asia.

  9. NFA says:

What were the then Jewish diaspora numbers do you figure Ed?

  10. NFA says:

    Land of Israel.

  11. NFA says:

And who renamed The Land of Israel to Palestine and when Ed?

  12. Ed Case says:

What were the then Jewish diaspora numbers do you figure
The numbers were uncountable in Asia Minor, Dacia, Galicia, Mesopotamia, Cyprus, Persia, the Parthian Empire, Babylon, North Africa, Italy, Arabia.
As I told you, but you didn’t listen, the religion was Proselytising at the time, there were converts over the face of the known world. There were Jews in China.
Yeah, a tiny Sect really really pissed the Romans off in Judea and a heap of historical data got destroyed, but then, as now, most Jews weren’t religious ratbags and fruitloops and life went on everywhere else after the 2nd Temple went ta ta.

  13. C.L. says:

Ed, the post is not about the history of the Jews.

It’s about Biden’s handlers writing a script for him wherein he uses the war against Israel to prop up the now lost war against Ukraine.

  14. Buccaneer says:

Generous calling that a history of the Jews.

  15. NFA says:

    ED

How many of those people came from The Land of Israel?

    Simple question.

  16. NFA says:

Biden/Obama are determined to wipe out The Land of Israel on behalf of their muslim brotherhood.

Egypt and Jordan will have nothing to do with the filth of Biden/Obama.

  17. NFA says:

    ED,

How did a tiny ‘sect’ make a difference to the Roman Empire?

Mahummads sect, 600 years later, have been determined to wipe out Jews and Christians. Peaces Be Upon Him.

    Biden is anti-Christian and Jew.

    Putin’s Russia is against Christianity?

  18. Ed Case says:

    Thanks, C.L.
Listening to Biden’s speech now, he’s selling it as a choice between sending Ukraine weapons to fight Russia or sending American Troops to fight Russia in Ukraine.
Sure, it’s insane bullshit, but the American people are uninaginably stupid, they’ll buy it.
Unspoken but implied, is that Israel is a proxy for the U.S.of A. in the Gaza situation, that is, if Israel isn’t in Gaza, American ground troops will have to fill the void.
I’d say it’s watertight and Trump won’t be able to outflank him to the Right.

  19. NFA says:

The U.S. forced Gaza on Israel.

  20. Jannie says:

That CL tweet of Trump talking on the plane with Blinken half in the toilet is good. As commented Blinken looks worried…. like: “We need a reliable avatar, WTF is he going to say this time?”

  21. Buccaneer says:

Ed, Trump doesn’t need to outflank Biden on the right, you calling anyone unimaginably stupid is, well, unimaginable.

  22. Tel says:

Ergo: Israel really needs undivided and reliable support. That would be a lot more certain were it not for the Ukraine debacle.

Oh, I expect Biden’s helpful assistance to Israel might be every bit as useful as his helpful assistance to Kyiv. The Biden government has a proven track record of outrageous misrule … seems unlikely they will suddenly come good at this late stage.

Sorry for the continuous cynicism, it’s been a tough few years, for everyone, I’m far from being the worst off … but one thing that’s slowly been beaten into me is when I see one thing goes wrong, and then right when that’s getting sorted out another thing goes wrong, and then another and another … well that ain’t all just happening by accident. Every day, read the news and ask yourself qwee bone oh, huh? Here’s at least part of your answer.

  23. Boambee John says:

There is no point in arguing with Ed. When caught spruiking one myth, he immediately spews up another.

  24. C.L. says:

    qwee bone oh

Exactly. And that’s also why the GOP just sank Jim Jordan for Speaker.

The US congressional class has destroyed the United States. I’ve been amazed to see the praise lavished on Biden by News Corp/FOX commentators over the past 24 hours for his Israel trip and national address. They’re happy because his bundle of wars is seen as a masterstroke that allows neocons to use the Jews as hostages, as it were, to keep the money flowing into Ukraine. Were it not for the attack on Israel, Jordan may have actually won. Now the Uniparty believes it has the ‘isolationists’ snookered.

  25. Tel says:

The US congressional class has destroyed the United States.

I have great confidence in the American ability to reinvent themselves … although you might need to be patient … right now things don’t look real good.

Were it not for the attack on Israel, Jordan may have actually won. Now the Uniparty believes it has the ‘isolationists’ snookered.

And they probably do have the isolationists snookered … sensible people in Washington are few and far between at the best of times … the federal money spigot is set to kick over to warp drive.

These nutters really seem to expect MMT is gonna work.

Fed Chair Powell has surprised everyone by keeping it together this long, but you have to wonder when the whole lot goes into death wobbles and the US economy takes a bite of the pavement.
