  1. Ed Case says:

“I don’t believe it’s in our country’s best interests to be increasing that intake at the moment without certainty around who individuals are and the fact that they’re going to be perfect Australian citizens, or as best as we could hope for,” Dutton told radio host Ray Hadley.

    Dutton’s instincts are 100% correct.
Labor has been caught with it’s feet either side of a barbed wire fence on this issue, perhaps the ABC can Spin them outta trouble, but it’s hard to see any clear air from here.

  2. Rosie says:

    Don’t do it Dutton.

  3. Ed Case says:

    Do what?
Labor’s the Government, if they want to increase the Refugee Quota, they can do it with the stroke of a pen.
100,000 extra refugees into Socal Housing Sydney and Melbourne?
The voters are gonna have a view on that in 2025.

  4. Buccaneer says:

The disturbing lack of consequences for terror supporters marching in the street of Australian cities makes me wonder if I need to get a gun license.

  5. Lee says:

“Lack of bipartisanship”: leftist code for not slavishly going along with Labor and the Greens.

You’re either for or against terrorism and terrorist states; there is no sitting on the fence.

The left has taken the side of evil.

  6. calli says:

I believe we do have the maturity and we need to have the maturity to have the respect for each other’s grief. – Burke

Quite. But we also need the maturity to see evil for what it is, and the consequences of evil on both the culprit and the culprit’s family.

This tremendous need to make both sides equal in all things now that Israel is finally fighting back after the multiple cruelties of 7/10 shows exactly where the “maturity” lies…and it isn’t with Tony Burke et al. Their crocodile tears and fulminations are just a ramped up indignation for hijab twitching.

Do something unconscionable to Israel…meh. Return fire…How DARE you!

  7. C.L. says:

Notice too that the Australian left has never called for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

    ——————–

    “Vile” and “ridiculous”:

AIJAC statement on Federal Minister Tony Burke’s comments.

  8. Mantaray says:

Buccy (12.39pm). The day they surround my little town and start going door to door hoping to slaughter all the men and old codgers, beheading the babies, and taking the younger sheilas away for “special treatment”…..Followers of The Prophet, Fake Aborigines and Yes Voters in general…..I suspect the licenced gun owners from the Gun Club, the Pistol Club and the Hunting Club will resist mightily. I also suspect support will arrive from all the farms and properties for miles about. This is not weasel country like the South East Corner!

Also, whilst in NSW /Victoria the cops will ALL be taking a knee, and begging “please don’t hurt us. We only bash/taser old ladies and pregnant chicks. Criminals like them”, the coppers’ union in the Moonlight State will not fold so gently. Get a licence while you still can!

  9. Mantaray says:

C.L. Missed your comment at 1.30pm. Wasn’t the Jewish lobby in Oz, echoing their generally left-leaning twaddle on everything else, all for The Voice?

Julian Leeser was high-profile, Mark Leibler too, but I also sorta recall plenty of Jewish Organizations throwing their support into the Yes campaign.

Why is it that….knowing the left is about 99% Jew-haters…. Jewish citizen throw their lot in with them so readily? The left HATES Jews FFS!

    Cassie?

  10. Ed Case says:

Julian Leeser was high-profile, Mark Leibler too, but I also sorta recall plenty of Jewish Organizations throwing their support into the Yes campaign.
Was that support was heavily rejected, or ignored by voters?

Perhaps there’s a method in the Burke Madness, and he’s dogwhistling to those ALP leaning NO voters?

  11. C.L. says:

    Mant:

There are good historical reasons for Jews to be wary of bucolic Christian rightists who despise metropolitan elites. There is a lot of rational inertia in that suspicion.

That said, however, another – more modern – tendency (evolving from the first) has also become a norm. Namely: Jewish representative bodies in an ecology of jockeying ethnic-religious lobbies believing it pays to align themselves to the leftist establishment as strategic self-preservation.

To be sure, imagine what their fate would be if they aligned themselves to, say, Donald Trump or the Liberals. Personally, I don’t think it would make any difference at this point – as current events demonstrate – but that attitude is also proving to be obstinate.

  12. Cassie of Sydney says:

    “Cassie?”

Here’s a fact, most Jews in Australia vote right as do those in the UK. Margaret Thatcher had a large Jewish constituency. Here in Oz, many Jews (though not me) in affluent electorates like Wentworth, North Sydney and Goldstein voted Teal in May 2022. Big mistake. And here’s my hunch, from various conversations, I don’t think that Teal vote will be repeated at the next election.

The US is different, many Jews have stuck to the Demonrat Party like destructive molluscs stick to whales, but I suspect the events of the last few weeks have severely shaken people and woken them up, it was enlightening to read Bari Weiss’ twitter thread the other day. In that thread, she acknowledges her error re. Trump.

I should also add that in November 2020, Florida’s Jewish community voted for Trump.

  13. NFA says:

Amazing that the Tingle cannot countenance an election based on immigration…

    She’s lost her tingle.

  14. Perfidious Albino says:

Tingle is perturbed that post Referendum people might be awokened to voting their conscience routinely…

  15. cuckoo says:

Still, it’s fun watching the ALP now get bitten in the arse by the muslim vote herds they imported, because Albo isn’t denouncing Israel with sufficient fervour.

  16. Morsie says:

Tingle like the ABC is becoming increasingly deranged about Dutton.

  17. and says:

After a week of silence, leading ‘Yes’ campaigners have begun to detail three ways forward for the movement – including fighting to keep Peter Dutton out of office.

The ‘Yes’ case responds: ‘It’s a white flag from Labor’.

  18. Franx says:

    “Vile” and “ridiculous”

The mantra that ‘Israel has a right to defend itself’, insofar as it has become a vice-like grip in the imagination, hides the a priori that Israel also had obligations to do with the 2ss which it had failed to implement so that now, defending itself from terrorists bred under Israeli occupation, Israel, as per the AIJAC, prefers to salve its conscience by referring to the destruction of the lives of 7000 people as ‘accidental deaths of Palestinian civilians who are unfortunately being killed because Hamas made a deliberate decision to use them as human shields.’
    Accidental deaths.
And yet, not really accidental, not when the dead and the yet-to-be dead had been marked by the Israeli government as fit for destruction, owing- ‘unfortunately’ – to their being denoted as collaborators in the form human shields.
So much for humanity, for yes, we can be vile and ridiculous.

  19. Lee says:

Here in Oz, many Jews (though not me) in affluent electorates like Wentworth, North Sydney and Goldstein voted Teal in May 2022. Big mistake. And here’s my hunch, from various conversations, I don’t think that Teal vote will be repeated at the next election.

I wonder how many Teals are pro-Hamas, anti-Israel?

My guess is most, if not all.

Speaking generally, it pretty much says it all that during the last election the Teals demanded “transparency” from the LNP government, but have since blocked any attempts to hold the Albosleazy government to account or to scrutiny.

  20. Lee says:

After a week of silence, leading ‘Yes’ campaigners have begun to detail three ways forward for the movement – including fighting to keep Peter Dutton out of office.

The mask is well and truly off.

The Voice is all about handicapping conservative governments, if not keeping them out of power.

  21. NFA says:

    Who is the globalist communist?

  22. Tel says:

Here in Oz, many Jews (though not me) in affluent electorates like Wentworth, North Sydney and Goldstein voted Teal in May 2022. Big mistake.

I could not resist looking them up.
    Wentworth: 62% Yes / 38% No.
    North Sydney: 60% Yes / 40% No.
    Goldstein: 56% Yes / 44% No.

    Just sayin’

  23. Pat Mac says:

    Buccy and Manta,
A gun licence will not help.
Here in Qld it is against the law to defend yourself by use of a firearm.
I live in the North and I agree with you Manta that there are many close to me who would react to any armed incursion a little different to those in the teal-like suburbs.

Cassie, I hope you are feeling better.

  24. Buccaneer says:

we needed truth to be told

says the yessers. Except they got caught lying to get the voice up so many times it became obvious their “Truth” would be just the same.

  25. MatrixTransform says:

we needed truth to be told

ask Franx who has both a priori, and a posteriori forms on hand when needed
