  2. Bruce of Newcastle says:

She should be calling on Hamas to unconditionally surrender and to release the hostages. Why isn’t she?

  3. Christine says:

The hostages have not been released.
The Foreign Minister mentioned the hostages, and then put them to one side.

I was beginning to wonder where the magic phrase “without evidence”, once so popular in our media, had gone, but the Age never disappoints:

Israel, without providing evidence, has accused Hamas of concealing a command post inside and under the compound, allegations denied by Hamas and hospital staff.

  5. C.L. says:

    It’s the world’s most well-armed ‘hospital.’

    Wong is a revolting liar.

The ‘hospital’ is a lawful target and has been for a long time.

  6. lwnj says:

Netanhanyu killing two-state solution, one innocent child at a time. Which leaves one state as the only option leading to non-jewish or non-democratic state.

Either way Netanhanyu has destroyed the future of Israel …

  7. Christine says:

Wong is a callous, deceitful individual.
She doesn’t support Israel; and calls for Australians (pro-Palestine, unsaid) not to indulge in anger and hate. As if they care what she says.

That plaintive, well-worn cry: “There’s no place for hate in Australia ……”
    It found a place.
In much-praised multicultural Australia, no less.

  8. Rafiki says:

I can’t claim that The Age is lying, but they are certainly very careless in asserting that Israel has provided no evidence. Whether there is evidence (information) to prove something is very different to establishing proof of that thing. I have seen published in the media detailed diagrams of the rooms and connected tunnels in the hospital that the Israelis say are Hamas headquarters.
The Age claim must be that the Israelis are lying.
Many of us here are concerned of the way Wong et al, and media, are backing Hamas, but how widely is this concern in the minds of the populace?

Another despicable apologist for barbarism crawls out of the woodwork at 9.31am . Your pathetic whataboutism fools no-one, we can see exactly who you are by the nonsense you scribble.

Total antisemitic garbage. I’m sick of the ignorance and deliberate blindness to reality.

  10. Lee says:

Either way Netanhanyu has destroyed the future of Israel …

Sounds like a threat to me.

The destruction of Israel is Hamas’s aim.

  11. Buccaneer says:

Apparently, people chasing unarmed civilians and murdering them in cold blood is a constructive part of working towards a two state solution. So is sending rockets over the border, lying about it when one of them hits a hospital carpark, taking hostages and parading dead young women around for people to spit on.

Which part of ‘ gas the Jews’ says two state solution? Asking for a friend….

  12. Foxbody says:

I know, I know, amateur psychology from the cheap seats is of little value, but I can’t help wondering what drives Pin Yin ( Penny) Wong.

She seems the hardest of politicians by nature – yet takes the easiest path , whether claiming pre selection advantage because female, defaming the British her forebears rushed to live under in Malaya or posturing for the easy plaudits of the left on Gaza.

No sign of reflection, no nuance, no engaging with the underlying issues – and certainly no engaging with the miasma around the Higgins stunt.

Still working through the issues from her father dumping her Aussie mother and the kids here and heading back to Malaysia?

The only positive affirmation she got was from the gay/ communist crowd at Uni?

Or a totally self centered person who identified the shortest path up the greasy pole to power early in life, taking up with Jay Wetherall ( like Jaye Walton without the intellect) just because Jay’s dad was a Labor M P.?

All that drive and spite signifying nothing.

  13. C.L. says:

    Superb, FB.

Many good questions to ponder there.

  14. Mantaray says:

Foxbody (12.01pm). Yes, Daddy Issues spring to mind…and then seriously compounded when she took up with Jay Weatherill for five years (Daddy replacement) before he famously dumped her , doubling her Daddy Issues to explosive.

Having sad-sack, bitter, psycho man-hating evil crazy-woman in charge of diplomacy doesn’t look too smart. But that’s the ALP for you!

  15. Ed Case says:

Wong is a psychopath, she was likely born that way.
The Gaza issue is existential for the ALP, so if Wong can save the Votes and come out on top of the Politics, she’s jumped to the head of the queue to succeed Albanese.
It’s probably pathological, but many Low T- blokes don’t have a problem with voting for Lezzos.

Wong also appeals to Australian women, which was the majority of the NO Vote.
It’s a gamble, but if she can keep the Muslims on side then Labor have a good chance of winning the unwinnable election.

Thanks BJohn. It’s the sheer ignorance and total inability to address that ignorance that grinds my gears.

But yes, lwnj’s are terminally ignorant. I should let it go, but having spent time in the ME and being married to a biblical history nut I find the empty heads who drink the Hamas KoolAid without question infuriating.

I will always stand with Israel and the Jewish people. That doesn’t meant I cannot see the humanitarian issues war inevitably brings.

That said, war is not a game. There are no civilians, only sides.

  21. Christine says:

    Wong appeals to Australian women?
    Why didn’t I know that

What, you tried tell us Australian women voted yes 60/40. You are a clown.

  23. Ed Case says:

    Why didn’t I know that
There could be a lot of reasons.
What, you tried tell us Australian women voted yes 60/40.
    No.
What I told you was that 62% of the YES voters were female.
65-70% of Greens voters are female.
It shouldn’t be surprising when you think about it, so perhaps there’s your problem?

  24. Ed Case says:

Since you raised the issue, a scan of voting by Division indicates that the bigger the M/F population imbalance, the more likely the Division voted heavily NO.
Vitamin D levels will be lower in the leafy suburbs, add in elevated levels of Soy consumption and annoying women, and you’ve found the formula for Albanese’s Win in 2022.

What I told you was that 62% of the YES voters were female.

    Both statements can’t be correct.

It’s a gamble, but if she can keep the Muslims on side then Labor have a good chance of winning the unwinnable election.

I’d be willing to bet that the highest concentration of Muslim voters are already in Labor (and maybe some Greens) electorates anyway.

Wong’s and Labor’s pro-Palestine, anti-Israel stance, on the other hand, could easily cost them seats like Macnamara (with a very large Jewish population) in Victoria.

  26. Ed Case says:

Labor are close to losing macnamara to the Greens anyway, and that’s with a jewish MP.

  27. Lee says:

The Greens have shown since October 7 that they hate Israel and Jews, with their Senate walkout rather than support them.

Voters in places like Caulfield in Macnamara are going to remember that the Greens are not their friends.

  28. Boambee John says:

    Lee

Ed would not think of that.

    Actually, Ed would not think.

  29. Buccaneer says:

    Great job Penny
