There seems to have been a rise in obviously nonsense or baiting posts on right wing forums, similar to the rise of phishing emails, is this in anticipation?

  2. Entropy says:

Psychotic things like pizzagate don’t help, but these people are using that kind of thing as an excuse it bring in controls that will mean in the end only their narrative is permissible.

On balance, it is better to air risable stuff like pizzagate IMHO. No rational person believes it, and circulation of stuff like that is a lot less harmful overall than the consequences of bequeathing power to those that have inveigled themselves a position of authority to decide what can and cannot be said.

And Ghislaine Maxwell is in jail for providing underage girls to … no one.

  4. Buccaneer says:

I’m betting no legislation allows a retrospective look at Mediscare or Hunter Biden’s laptop, two of the most obvious and scandalous examples of deliberate misinformation, neither of which anyone has been held to account.

  5. Fat Tony says:

The most blatant mis/disinformation of the past 3 years have been the governments’ lies about COVID & the ” vaccine”

They don’t want any truth coming out about the effects the ” vaccine” has had and is having on people who were forced/coerced by the government to get same.
    Plus their future B/S efforts.

  6. John of Mel says:

    Plus their future B/S efforts.

I think this is the main reason for the global push for more information control. They have something planned and this time they don’t want people to get even a glimpse of the truth.

  7. Entropy says:

John, what has that to do with pizzagate?

  8. Buccaneer says:

Jussie Smollett, Covington kids, Gaza Hospital strike, Kathy Sherriff, Kavanaugh, hotel quarantine in melbourne, the uluru statement of the heart is one page, the voice is a modest proposal

  9. C.L. says:

I’ve never come across a website that discussed Pizzagate.
It is essentially a myth overblown by the left to caricature what the ‘right’ talks about.

  10. jupes says:

    “Scientific facts”:
Covid is a pandemic of the unvaccinated.
Australian government policy can change the weather.
Aboriginal “nations” farmed animals and grain in towns of over 1000 people.
    Men can have babies.
    Tuvalu has climate refugees.

  11. Bruce of Newcastle says:

Since almost everything the UN says is a lie that would be a heroic statement from Ms Zuul oops Azoulay. Does she own two really ugly dogs?

  12. cuckoo says:

I’m betting no legislation allows a retrospective look at Mediscare

To be fair, one of the regime news bulletins the other night did invoke Mediscare as an example of recent election misinformation. But then they ‘balanced’ it with the counter example of the Coalition’s ‘retiree tax’ claim against Labor in 2019. Which was of course a factual description of an actual Labor policy.

  13. Fat Tony says:

I’m betting no legislation allows a retrospective look at Mediscare

As far as I can determine, politicians/government are exempt from the provisions of any mal/dis/mis-information legislation.
They just want to shut us up.

From what I’ve read, the effects of the COVID “vaccines” are not plateauing – and seem to get worse with time. If I was responsible for this, I too would want to shut people up. Nothing like losing one’s wife and/or children to these “vaccines” to bring out one’s nasty side…

  14. John of Mel says:

John, what has that to do with pizzagate?

In the last few years it became abundantly clear that we’ve been lied to for the most of our lives. And we are still not allowed to know the whole truth, like the Epstein’s client list for example. We’ve also learned a lot about the depth of evil that many people “in charge” won’t mind stooping down to if it promotes their ends. Let’s just say I won’t be surprised if a story as bizarre as pizzagate will turn out to be real at some point in the future.

  15. Entropy says:

There was a particular poster on the old catallaxy website that was constantly banging on about pizzagate. Jannie I think.
Other good ones are the endless WTC conspiracies and the vaccine =5G tracking device ones my aunt keeps banging on about. It was all on Facebook she says, as if that was the last say on the matter.

Needless to say, there will be those that will use such nuttiness to argue for support for this misinformation and disinformation bill. But this stuff needs to be exposed to daylight, not subject to vetting by a MiniTru. And inevitably, a MiniTru will be used by authority to stifle dissent, no matter how noble its origins..

    Spin doctors?
You’re saying the issue shoulda been aired by the same people that suppressed it, and, by the way, those people can’t be trusted?
    BaffleGab on stilts old boy.
Make mine thin crust, sourdough, Hawaiian, hold the tomato, thanks, Dougy.

  17. Entropy says:

John, there is the real (eg Epstein and Maxwell’s client list deeply lodged in the media forgettery) and then there are conspiracies about the politically powerful sneaking into a pizza shop to have their way with children.

  18. Ed Case says:

then there are conspiracies about the politically powerful sneaking into a pizza shop to have their way with children.
    Ha ha.
The Comet Pizza proprietor was listed as one of the 50 most influential people in Washington.
The business acted as a booking agency for rent boys, no one, apart from you, has ever suggested the business operated as a brothel.

Does anyone remember ScoMo saying that the laws of Australia can overrule the laws of mathematics?

A lot of the nuttier conspiracy theories come from Qanon, which I believe is a deep state / CIA psyop to brand the ‘far-right’ as nutjobs. Unlike their uselessness at gathering intelligence for the battlefield, they have been pretty successful here.

  23. Sahul Rex says:

This is appropriate. From Jessica Rose cross-posted from Nepetalactone Newsletter

The same people that are so certain of the benevolence of this treatment will demand no further questions get asked as it might scare the Plebs.

When science requires a restriction of information flow and a silencing of allowable questions under the banner of protecting the public from their own fear… you are dealing with scam artists, not scientists.

The scam is executed while making a mockery of the publics intelligence. At the core of this ‘Munchaussen’s mutated into my morality mission’ is an elitism mind virus masquerading as a public protector

  24. Sahul Rex says:

the laws of Australia can overrule the laws of mathematics?

Was it the mincing flamer and prayer room devotee that tried to misinformation us into believing the composition of the water in the Indian Ocean was different to the Pacific?
