Inssolence Sslammed

On SBS tonight, apropos of Abraham Zapruder’s film: The Home Movie That Changed The World.

I’m for X obeying the law and I’m not for the actions and statements of our e-safety commissioner being ignored. We back her 100 per cent. In government we Liberals brought in the Online Safety Act… X is just a free-for-all. It’s not fair and it’s not right.”

Off topic a little bit maybe, but check out the Nathan Livingstone story on Quadrant.

Old Hanrahan had it right “we’ll all be ruined, if this dog don’ bite” licence mine.

This bullshit has to stop and I don’ know how we make it happen against big liars.

  2. Lee says:

“It’s not safe,” she told Sky News Australia.

I have yet to see any remotely good argument why it is not “safe.”

And in any case, it is not for the government or a censor commissar to decide what the public can or cannot see.

“So, I’m really disappointed with the approach of Elon Musk and the way he’s taken over this company.”

It’s his bloody company and his money, dipstick!

I don’t know how many times I have seen leftists defend billionaire owners of woke companies or corporations (including Twitter before Musk) with a comment to the effect that “he can do what he likes with his company.” The same argument was trotted out to defend self-censorship of Hunter Biden’s laptop before the last U.S. election.

The SFL have disgraced themselves over this.

    Meanwhile, in Pakistan…

Video of Muslims celebrating after burning down another church:

    https://twitter.com/AzzatAlsaalem/status/1783445122044068117

See it and believe it while you can.

  4. Lee says:

No doubt Commissar Grant and Ley would have the Zapruder film banned from being shown on social media if it happened now.

  5. Lee says:

Video of Muslims celebrating after burning down another church:

I am surprised that Commissar Grant and the Uniparty haven’t called for that to be taken down, reason being it puts Islam in a very bad light.

  6. Tony Taylor says:

Why do those rampaging savages who take vids of religious unpleasantness in hell state theocracies never hold their bloody phones steady?!

  7. jupes says:

reason being it puts Islam in a very bad light.

    Not to other Muslims.

  8. C.L. says:

    What a dick:

Former Labor minister Graham Richardson says he hopes people “get on-side” with the Australian government against Elon Musk…

Mr Richardson joined Sky News Australia to discuss the ongoing row between the X owner and the Australian government.

The social media platform is challenging the Australian eSafety Commissioner’s takedown order of graphic footage.

Mr Richardson said he believes most people agree with the government on the matter.

“I hope that as many people as possible get on side with the government because this guy doesn’t deserve to keep winning,” he said.

  9. twostix says:

Ms Ley highlighted her concerns over what vulnerable young Australians could be seeing online.

As opposed to what they’re seeing at the movies and in book in the school library?

There wasn’t even any blood or gore in the video.

Obviously scheme to ise this to censor the Internet for broader political purposes is obvious.

Also it’s a.massive up yours to the victim who they hate for many reasons, ultra conservative, ‘anti vaxxer’, anti lock down a real little thorn in their side when they imprisoned western Sydney, so they’re really sticking another knife into him now by using him as a tool and they know it.

  10. twostix says:

Whenever labor are doing shit in the poles they pick some high profile rich individual and gin up a mob against them.

Gillard did it to Gina Rinehart too, remember that whole thing? Using state power to single out some person. Really ugly.

  11. Megan says:

What about the vulnerable young Australians being read dubious nonsense by drag queens in public libraries?

  12. Megan says:

And as for Graham Richardson, he can wait till he’ll freezes over before this little back duck agrees with this useless government of morons, bullies and leeches.

  13. Megan says:

HELL! AI will never take over the world if it cannot recognise contextual language in a sentence and converts it instead to whatever damned thing it thinks should be there even when the result is totally grammatically incorrect and doesn’t make any sense.

  14. Old Lefty says:

Don’t forget, Megan, that the pimps’ and pornographers’ lobbyist Fiona Patten was, along with John Setka, effectively the co-deputy premier of Victoria under the Stalinist hunchback Andrews.

  15. twostix says:

Naturally they’ve been given the green light to do this by the democrat and neocon aligned security state who hate Musk with a vengeance but can’t lay a glove on him in Rome with his protections their as a citizen, but rely on their tame governors in the vassal states and distant outer regions to have a crack.

  16. NFA says:

It seems that the entire leadership of the LNP is afflicted with Morrison Disease.

  17. Old Lefty says:

And here’s our ABC again: CATHOLIC school teacher, screams the headline in neon lights:

    https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-04-26/catholic-school-employee-charged-with-sexual-abuse-offences/103774444

With the truckloads of evidence about state school teachers, the ABC either suppresses it or buries it so discreetly that hardly anyone would notice.

  18. Morsie says:

    Ley can just piss off

  19. MatrixTransform says:

It’s not fair and it’s not right

stfu you annoying attention seeking mole

  20. shatterzzz says:

You only need to see the plethora of Luigi memes to grasp which side of the censorship argument Oz folk are on .. LOL!

  21. Former Labor minister Graham Richardson says he hopes people “get on-side” with the Australian government against Elon Musk…

What, Labor wanting to provoke a parochial war? Never!

  22. Tel says:

Former Labor minister Graham Richardson says …

Who cares what he says? Have a big sook Richo but these are your rules dingbat … remember the words “Whatever it Takes” … this is what you wanted, no forgiveness, no mercy, no decency … the ALP way to political power.

All of a sudden he’s so very upset when it comes back to him … bit late to worry about that now bud.

  23. C.L. says:

    Whatever it Takes

Is he upset – or is he actually applying that very ‘principle’?

  24. Elizabeth (Lizzie) Beare says:

Elon Musk deserves a medal. So does Brendan O’Neill.

    Both warrior for free speech.

Pauline Hanson’s Please Explain doing well too. Don’t miss seeing this.

  25. Tel says:

Pauline Hanson’s Please Explain doing well too.

There you go … all Musk needs to do is pull some levers and make that go nuts around the world. Nothing the previous management weren’t doing back in 2020.

  26. Ed Case says:

That’s 2 days ago, so at least Ley hasn’t doubled down after Dutts called the idea “silly”.
She’s a Nanny State Granny, though, that’s for sure.
Guardian in April said bshe would be challenged by a Voices candidate, Voices Movement Australia doesn’t list Farrer.
Barnaby Joyce has no Voices opponent in New England, which seems strange, since Armidale is a University town and Joyce is a real pig.
